I'm thinking of buying a new car. Well used, but new to me. I am debating over an E36 BMW M3, or like an 03-04 Evo.
Anyone have any experience with these cars, and could provide me with useful information about either that i could use when trying to decide? Like pros/cons, specific things to check for or watch out for on the cars? any help is appreciated!

BMWs are expensive as hell to fix when something goes wrong, but the Evo has a very rigorous maintenance schedule, so either way you'd better have some $$$$ to keep it going...

alot of things come in to play when buying cars like this.
1) can you afford to purchase the car and/or keep up with the payments
2) can you afford the insurance rates for a car like this?
3) on top of all of this can you keep up with the maintenance?
4) will you have enough money left over after points 1-3 to still have a social life and not work to afford your car?
if yes to all of these then yea id go with the bmw
I have always wanted a E36 M3, i cant wait till i can afford one. My vote is for the M3.

the bmw will be cheaper in insurrance then the evo will.
How can you people afford this stuff. When I graduate I will be making excellent money, and I am still trying to figure out how I will even be able to afford a new Astra.
My choice would be the BMW though.

I make @!#$ money, and i was even considering buying an EVO.
But i decided against it, because i save money. And having a cavalier isnt exactly a large payment, even since it's payed off. Every day i drive this thing to work, im stashing cash in my pocket!
