True to ricer form, they are just slapping a body kit and a knock-off race seats in it... Assuming you have 2-3 guys who know what they are doing, and aren't going for anything close to white glove inspection why it takes 6 hours is amazing.
Oh, and again to ricer specks, saleen wheels on a non-saleen car.
Nice stick on scoops..........that car sux!!!
They couldnt even lower the fu(king thing
Im sure it took like a crew of 20 to do that, while most of us could do it ourselves in the same amount of time

Well they did add the Saleen supercharger to it. Although not officially Saleen, they tried
uh and also Saleen brakes it seems
and suspension parts
and Saleen seats
cant tell what the suspension is but it looks like a
slight upgrade
the scoops i could probably do without tho, maybe just one or the other, but not both
wow as always JBO is quick to criticize. Looks like the only "ricer" part is the stick-on scoops. Everything else (immediately visible) looks to be decent upgrades.

Nowhere in that article does it state this car will be in the movie. In actuality, the only connection to FNF is when they
are making fun of the FNF movies (i.e. when they say...)
Quote:
..."How long does it take to build a show car "worthy" of being in the upcoming Fast and Furious 4
movie? Well, if the fourth installment is anything like the first sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, we'd say about ten minutes with a
paint gun ought to do it"...
Then go go back and say maybe with the 2 original actors back the new one will be better. Nowhere is it said this is a car from the movie.
The key word there is "worthy". this car has nothing to do with the movie.
And is tacky looking anyway.

Did any of you actually READ the article? Heck, even looking at the pictures you'd be amazed at what they did. They put on a new hood. Don't believe me? Look at this:

That's a picture of all the parts they installed, laid out in front of the car before the build. Notice something? NO HOOD SCOOPS! The upgraded pretty much everything on the car. Added racing seats, supercharger, better brakes, sway bars, body kit, new hood, and a list of other things in 6 HOURS. Sheesh, just because FnF was mentioned everyone starts ragging on it without even learning more about it.

i like brawl back there ...
I fail to see the rice? This car would beat 98% of the cars on this site at the track.

All I see is that stupid bit(h in the background with Uggs boots on...cant stand those fu(king things...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

If thats all the parts........wheres the bodykit, foglights, spoiler, and rice scoops?
Well you see a mess of performance parts in the background, maybe there's another pile with the body kit since it's probably available for purchase?
I'll be the first to admit, hands down I effin' love the Fast and the Furious. Who gives a @!#$ about acting or a few gimmick rice mods..? I love the cars. Especially Tokyo Drift. Real cars, only 5 percent CGI for the drift through the crowd and crap, the rest of the movie is real stunts.
As enthusiasts, Id figure despite some tacky Hollywood crap that guys would appreciate at least the cast of cars in the movie. Oh, and that Mustang build is impressive, regardless of the manpower or apparent 'rice' parts. It seems its only 'rice' if its visual and its not your taste. Eh, I like bodymods however pointless they are for performance so thats just me.
i dont understand how sticking ram air hood on a car quantifies as rice? it has molded functional hood scoops, and by the looks of it, functional heat extracting vents on it as well.

A car for this movie, then, takes about six hours...

does anybody read the actual articles anymore or do they just look at the pretty picture.
^^those are more than just some ricey bolt ones you can buy off the shelf at the local parts store. thats a big ass blower thats on that motor now with a whole slew of suspension upgrades and looks like a whole new diff too. not to mention the body and interior upgrades too.
why is everyone so quick to judge? they took a 300hp stock mustang and made it into a show car that is apparently supposed to be in the next Fast and the Furious (which is already rumored to have the new mustang in it) and bumped it up to 550 hp with a blower install and a boat load of suspension and aero/body upgrades....
1997 RedR - ZedR
Decent car with good upgrades....but I'm still not impressed with the whole "All this in 6 hours!!!" spin they're putting on it. #1 - The car is brand new, and all the body accessories were pre-painted. Obviously, paint & prep time wasn't taken into consideration for all the body parts, and seeing as how the car was new, they didn't have to worry about blending either. Plus, being brand new, there wasn't much concern over having the second-to-last manifold bolt breaking off. #2 - Plenty of open work space, plenty of hands. I'm sure the seats and interior were going in at the same time the blower was being installed.
Like I said, nice car, good upgrades, but the time aspect doesn't impress me; give me that much space, 5 hand-picked team members and pre-painted stuff and I could do it too.
1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
it doesnt seem inhumanly possible to do the work they did, heck putting on hood scoops would take more time then swapping out a hood. two guys can swap out a
hood in 15 minutes, suspention can be done in 4 hours by 1 person. if you had two people and your just swapping the suspention out like they appeared to do, it could
problaby be done in an hour. i mean if you allready have the kit and its allready been test fitted and finshed and painted just slapping it on doesnt take anytime at all. i can
have my bumper off in about 15 minutes and it has every bolt and connector still on the car. so 6 hours time for probably 5-6 guys doing it is very reasonable. i think the
car looks nice but then again im a ricer. esp when dealing with a new car where bolts are easier to undo. most likely the car was allready to go meaning they new the seat
brackets were made and ready to just bolt up. they had most likely taken care of any problems before it was brought to the show so it was just basicaly throw everything in.

i could believe it... if me and my dad can take a bone stock sunfire like full out bone stock and pull the engine and put in the new one with the turbo+supercharger on it, and throw in the new suspension and put the body kit on (hood, front/rear end, side skirts, spoiler) and gauge cluster ect (every thing i have on my car now in 30-35hrs... I am sure a crew of what 6? who do that probably fairly often could pull that all off in 6hrs no problem

silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno
Yea... with all the prep work done, this really isnt hard to believe. Me and my buddy got his suspension installed in his jetta in about a couple of hours.
When you have the right tools, and the know-how, it really doesnt take too long to do these jobs. That, and 6 people working on the car makes a TON of a difference.
