The Honda Accord, stands with two redesigned General Motors cars--the Cadillac CTS and the Chevrolet Malibu--for the 2008 North American Car of the Year award.
GM also has two of the three finalists in the 2008 North American Truck of the Year award--the Buick Enclave SUV and the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid SUV. The third finalist is the Mazda CX-9 SUV.
Winners of the awards will be announced on Jan. 13 at the start of the press preview days for the Detroit auto show.
GM vehicles captured both the car and truck awards last January, with the Saturn Aura and the Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
Votes from automotive journalist jurors whittled down lists of 15 car nominees and 13 truck nominees. The jurors will vote a second time on the three finalists in each category to select the winners.

How often is it that a car would win both Motor Trend and North American COTY/TOTY?
If it's rare, I say Malibu/Tahoe Hybrid
If it's common, I say CTS/Tahoe Hybrid
The Enclave is a good looking SUV
But the tahoe takes this easy.
