allright, o unplugged all the wre from the back of my steering wheel and now i can't find where to put them all back in. theres a red one and a black one with 5 wires going to it. Also, my blinkers and my wind shield wipers arent working. thanks j-body!!!! vwforums.com is not any good. i have no car to drive until i can find them.
I don't know about vwforum.com but I usually go to vwvortex.com when I need to figure out something about my passat. I wish I could help you but I dont know about it, sorry man. Hopefully Darkstars will chime in, he is really good with VW's. Good Luck!

I'd go with VWVortex... cause a 96 is well out of my range of experiance too...
just a guess, the red one is for your horn and the black is a ground. You can ground the black one just about anywhere metal and the red one, you could probably find it if you look hard enough and trace it to your horn. Thats my $.02
