We got a 08 CTS at the dealership I work at, very nice in person. I was very impressed with the quality and feel of the interior. The dash for one is a amazing improvement A/C vents could have been a better position though. the top of the dash is covered in leather along with upper portion of the door panels. IPC and and lighting is alot better than the orange and amber of its
predicesor(sp?). Seats of the new modle are like night and day design and feel are a huge improvent. Size and comfort a big leap foward than fist generation. The ultra view sunroof was a nice touch also.
The exterior design is alot bolder now, might take some time to get used too. The wider fender flares and higher belt line flow really well. The bigger wheels are an excellent touch this one had 18 wrapped in michellin pilots. The one we got in was silver on silver 3.6RWD performance sedan with luxury equipment. It has a huge 4inch wide strut tower tie brace that goes, which I think helps with the steering feel. The handling and performance aspects are of course could have only got better. The six speed automatic does a good job of transfering power than the old 5 speed auto.
Did not get to really drive the way I wanted to, since it was pooring rain. Suprisingly I was able to push a pretty good though without activating the stabilty system. Of course I would never drive a new car without the traction control engaged, have to make sure it comes on when it's soposed too.
I would love to own one, the only other CTS that suprised me was the a V series with the LS2. This one is a little more in my price range for a car. this one started at 32k and went up to 38k.
So if anyone was at all thinking or even considering of looking at one of these....GO FOR IT!!! Take one for a drive you'll not easily choose not to buy it.

as for the new one, I love the way it looks, but for different reasons than the reasons I love my current 05...
as much as I like the new one, i still think I am going to trade mine for a V when i turn 25
