ok first of im looking to lease a new vechile and was wanting some input from everyone good or bad. Here are the requirements has to be a 4 door or easy access to the back seat as i have a month old son. Needs to be automatic so the lady can drive it as well. That is basically it really or than being around 300 a month for the leasing payment.
So far the two i like are an 2007 328i bmw- the pluses 4yr or 50000mile hassle free maintenance the style i love and its got some power to it. payments approx 330 a month and 2500 down payment and 600security deposit
The other choice is a 2007 passat 2.0 TFSI. There is a lot of options that i like on this. payments approx 289 a month and 2664 down payment
so whats everyones opinions on these. Or what other vehicles should i look into. thanks in advance
If I was gonna lease a car, I wouldn't put any down payment on it... you might as well wipe your butt with that money

He's right; you never put money down on a lease. Unless maybe you're REALLY bad with money and it's burning a hole in your pocket. Even then, get some self-control.
Other cars in that segment, acura TL? Caddy CTS? Lexus IS300 is a really nice car I don't know the payments though.

My boss leases an acura TL. nice little car. has enough space and it is a 4 door!

sedan!!!!
ya never thought of the TL I do like them though why do they require or ask for the down payment
An IS300 is a 4 door that for all practical purposes, doesn't have a backseat. Seriously, my tC's backseat has more room.
One overlooked sport sedan is the Subaru Legacy GT. spec B would be even nicer.

2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

Why lease?

How many steps to heaven, Doc?
...Ah, metaphysics.
Don't forget to look into insurance on these cars if you are on a budget.

I would never lease a car because to me it's like giving away money and when it's all said and done you have only two options:
1) You can buy the car by refinancing it at the end of the lease period
2) You can turn it back in and lose everything you put into it. It's not like you would be getting anything back if you paid if off and then traded it in because there's nothing to give.
My opinion, I say forget leasing a vehicle. If you can afford a $300 car payment and have $3100 (your proposed $2500 down payment on the BMW and $600 security deposit) to put down, there are plenty of sedans that fit into what you looking for that you can actually buy rather than lease for a couple of years. Sure they may not be near luxury vehicles such as the BMW, Lexus, and VW Passat that you are looking for but they would more than adequately do what you need done. Unless you feel the need to roll around in a BMW or just want the status of driving in a luxurious type car.
I think there are more advantages to buying than leasing but that's my opinion.
^ I completely agree... lets run the numbers on this:
Lets say you lease your BMW, $320 a month, $3100 down, for 36 months (typical lease term).
In 3 years you've paid a total of $14,620, and thats assuming you keep the mileage under 12,000 per year... Now you go to the dealer and turn it in, you're out $14,620 because you can't trade in a lease and put it towards another vehicle. If you opt in to buy it, they offer it to you for fair market value, lets say its a $35,000 car to start out with, BMW's hold value very well, its low mileage (12,000 a year), lets say its worth $27,000. You take out a loan, get a great interest rate at 6.9% per year and you take the loan out for 72 months, it would end up being $486.56 per month for 6 years, and you would end up paying, total lease and purchase, of $49,623.00, and all said and done, you have a 9 year old BMW thats worth probably $10,000...
Leasing is the biggest scam car companies ever came up with.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
Yep, I think that we made a mistake with leasing. Three years ago my wife and I just had our 1st son, and we needed a bigger vehicle. (At least a four door one.) So we decided to lease a G6 GT. No money down and $300 a month for 3 years. We were 16,000 miles under our mileage requirements after turn in. (Sucks a$$ you pay if you go over miles, but don't get jack if you're under). So we ended up paying around $11,000 in three years for nothing. Yes it was nice knowing that it was under warranty and we didn't have to worry about anything going wrong, but now I look at it like we are out $11,000. $11,000 could have went towards a nice used vehicle. Anyways, just my $.02 .
Oh we traded in the wife's G6 for a used Envoy Denali.............yes payments are more, but sure is a helluva nicer ride!!!!
thank you all for your help I will take everything into consideration. I have never leased a vehicle I know there are a ton of leasing options ie balloon lease high and low milage and so on. I was looking at it as you get more car for less money but didnt know that at the end of the lease they wouldnt let you use what you put into it to refiance the remaining amount

Avoid German cars with gasoline engines. Diesel is an exception.

^^ even with the warrenty lol ok i called on insurance its the same for all of those except the acura TL its 10 more a month which isnt bad.
Yes, even with the warranty.
German cars are problematic and mostly because they are complicated. Granted, with a warranty you won't pay for repairs, but expect to go the dealer more often... and it won't be for routine maintenance.

yes i see what you are saying well since i decided not to go the leasing route what are some good options for a 4 door car that has some what of a luxary feel but not the luxary price. The inside of the car is more important to me then the outside if that makes since
Honda Accord, or maybe a slightly used Acura TSX or TL.
The new Nissan Altima sedan is pretty swank as well.
Hyundai Sonatas aren't too bad either. I've rolled in a couple testing them around my dad's lot and they feel really good, especially the 6 cylinder.
Mazdaspeed3 grand touring. just make sure it has the motor mount fixed

For the $30K-$32K class.
Look at Lexus IS, 2008 Caddy CTS (beautiful), Acura TSX or TL, Infinity G35, Saab 9-3, Volvo S60.
All are solid vehicles.
Luxury feel, not luxury price $24K-$28K. And that interior is more important then exterior.
Honda Accord EX
Volvo C30 or S40
Mazdaspeed 6
Subaru Legacy
Ford Taurus
Hyundai Azera<<< Would probably be the best bang for your buck.
Pontiac G8
Toyota avalon
