Bike Project...
Friday, May 18, 2007 9:53 PM
Here is a very used 96 kat I picked up. Needs alot of work but I plan to work on it slow and make it a clean custom bike. Im gonna keep it black but with black wheels, solo cowl, custom made headlight and some other small details. Anyways here is some progress if you can call it that...

Yea the paint is ok but Im gonna have it redone a little more smooth I think. Gonna have the header and pipe ceramic coated and the rims powdercoated also. BUt it will be a while before I get into it to deep.

cool project.

I dont agree with black bikes especially with black wheels too! it looks amazing but is too dangerous to me. Hope ALL THE GEAR you will ALWAYS wear is high contrast to try and compensate for an invisible bike.

I give everyone a hard time about visibility and gear, dont take it personal

have fun and be carefull.

Can somebody make a thread about bikes that doesn't have something to do with what you're wearing while you're riding it?

Nice bike you got there. I'm not really a big fan of Katanas, but that one does look like it's in real nice shape. I would paint the centers of the wheels black, and then polish the outside edges. That usually looks a lot better than solid black.

Im still very undesided on the colors. Might have the rims coated in silver or I might find some chrome ones lm not sure. Also debating on the frontend being candy red.

why? they go hand and hand.

thats like talking about super cars but not talking about how fast or how much hp they have. or talking about supras and not talking about how much they dyno.

no its more like talking about a supercar and how many airbags it has
or what kind of extinguisher you have in a supra
not the same as power or speed by any means

thats not what I was saying. I was not giving an example of the similarities of the two things within each subject. obviously, I would have to be off my rocker to be saying that the relationship within a convo between supras and horsepower was the same as motorcycles and gear.

I was expressing that within a subject sometimes, there are other subjects that naturally go with it.
Gear and Motorcycles should NEVER be left without eachother in a conversation.

excuse the off topic phlat-

get that things fixed up. any more pics?

The real point is that all to often people see 10K bike that can go 200mph and neglect the $2K+ in gear they should be wearing before touching it, I think thats kind of the point Nathanial was feeling for.

Anywho, nice kat my friends got one in Blue I think his is a 97 tho. If you lived in MD I'd know exactly who could paint your bike and does an awesome job.

GL, its a great reliable bike.
