New car search
Thursday, March 29, 2007 9:28 AM
Im in the market for a new ride. I want to keep it around 10k but will go up to 15k depending on the car.

00-03 GTP
00+ Bmw 325xi
01+ IS300
00+Grand Am gt
Jag X type
01+Benze c230/ 240 sedan

Obviously some of these cars will go for over 15k but if they might have higher miles. Which ones will last me the longest out of the is300/325/benz/jag ?

Thanks

00-03 GTP - Solid Choice
00+ Bmw 325xi - Out of Warrenty Bimmers are a No.
01+ IS300 - the older they get the more problems I hear about them. Great car for their time, now not so much.
00+Grand Am gt - N-Bodes are junk.
Jag X type - My dad owns an 80s Jag. Its nice and plagued with electrical problems. No idea on the new ones.
01+Benze c230/ 240 sedan - See BMW.

Hey, seems like you are looking for more of a midsize car. I would say stay away from the BMW,Jags, and Benz. Not that they are bad but the warranty are gone and if something is messed up, you'll be paying alot to fix the car. Unless you know how to fix cars then its a different story. I'm sure you can find something good for $15k if you are willing to go up there.

Not sure if you are specific size of car you want. Compact, mid,etc/coupe,sedan,vert, etc.

Most of the car you listed is midsize, so I'll make some suggestions there. These are couple of cars I would get if I was in the midsize market.
Mazda6, Hyundai Sonata, Nissan Altima, Honda Accord.

If your car is not about to die, look around and wait for a good deal to come by.

I just got a pretty good deal on a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon Limited GT for $14.9k

go mazda three over 6... 3's are better for the price... sonatas are very nice and very cheap.. a few noise issues with a sloshing gas tank, but other than that.... its a great car
honda accords are realiable... thought im not much of a honda guy my friends mom has one and she loves it. quick, vtec engine....

He he, if you are i love with the GTP, look at the Regal GS, same car under the skin, but the Regal is actually cheaper to insure and since it has that "Old Man" moniker, the resale values are nothing. Got mine 3 years old with 22K miles on it for less then 15K.
