yea really same as Monroe- worked there same results
let me guess.... its either the car pulling in and falling into the pit. or the new story with jeep wth the fuel filter and @!#$ about work not getting done?
Gotta love Southern California.

that's from this summer.
They've followed up since then about a month ago and the same juffy lubes are still ripping off people and even 2 of the ones that didn't did this time as well as a few in Riverside and Orange County.
I will never go to a Jiffy Lube again.

that's why I either go to a dealership or a small family-owned business to get work done. if the dealership messes up, you call GM (or Ford, Dodge, etc) and get it fixed. if a small business screws up, they'll be out of business real fast.
god im glad im becoming a mechanic... what a bunch of @#$hats.. its people like this that make me very optimistic about getting a job in the field... i know i've been ripped before... never went to that shop again... most small shops and "backyard bobs" never do this kind of stuff because they appreciate the business and love what they do... they're out to make money but not by ripping people off... i hope they all get blackballed and can never be mechanics again... i wouldnt mind being a DM... $#@%ing @$%hats!

grr...
I used to get my oil changed at Jiffy Lube, until one day I noticed they had unscrewed a sensor from my engine.
My mom used to go there in her Jeep to get oil changes, until they broke off the oil drain plug, charged us for another, and refused to do service on the car again, since there was a non-stock plug in there...
Those @!#$s are the reason we always have customers out in our shop breathing down our @!#$ necks as we do repairs. You can't trust anybody anymore, I want to punch all of those people in the face repeatedly.

Can we just be clear here for a moment?
these morons are NOT mechanics. they're oil jockey's. they have no formal training, nor are ASE certified. that alone should tell you they're going to jack your car up. I'm saying there are no crooked mechanics out there, there are alot of them. It just infuriates me that the entire auto mechanic community has to suffer becuase these Jr. high school dropouts rip people off and are mistaken for educated REAL mechanics.

This reminds of the the crooked dealership my great aunt used to go to in Des moines. They made her fix all kinds of crazy things that were need to be done with her car. Anyone in the Des moines area should know of the Holmes dealerships, sorry to all those that might work there, but they took a lot of money from her. Once she was about to take her car back to them again because now she had a coolant leak and I took a look and they had loosened the clamp on a small hose and the pressure made it squirt out. Keep in mind this is a high 90's car with less than 40,000 on a 3100.

It's just like Canadian Tire in Canada when I went to get my brakes fixed on my cav a couple years back, they charged almost $600 for the front and back, and never actually did any of the work. I found out when I was driving home and got a flat and had to change the tire, you could tell it was the same old brakes. Took the car back and complained, got my money back and went some where else. I have heard of a few other times it happened there as well.
there's a chain down here in Port Orange (
Repair One) that buys parts from the Advance Auto I work at, sells them to the customer for three times the amount that they paid, and then returns the new parts to us after they show the customer their bill. We've had more than one of their customers come in and ask about their shady business practices, and I am more than happily to divulge
did ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THEY MARKER THE FUEL PUMP AND NOT THE FILTER?? Goddamn. I paused it right there, but they dropped the gas tank and put a mark on the FUEL PUMP.... NOT THE FILTER. @!#$ news crooks piss me off. Now ill go finish the video

I used to take my Sunbird to Jiffy Lube, until one day I noticed a sensor had been unplugged from the engine and was just left dangling back near the firewall...never went back after that...
Part of the reason I either take it back to the dealer where I know the techs, SA's and Service Manager by name, or I go to a mechanic's place where I know the mechanic and can trade services (he's constantly DLing porn from sites that infect the living sh*t out of his computer... )

Yep, saw it and thoght the same thing too, I'm not familiar on the Jeep's version pump/filter though. Either way I classify this as: yellow journalism.
As far as the issue goes...

That is the location of a fuel filter on Cherokee's, they are a @!#$ pita to get changed. They use a 2 filter system, one @ regulator, and one in the tnak itself. BOTH can be left for over 200 000km, non issues. My beleif is that the Jiffy Lube guys most likely being just oil jockeys had no clue about the 2 filter setup. thus they just left one in. This still looks bad on jiffy lube. ANYWAY you look at it.

Yeah my friend worked at jiffy lube for years. He and those clueless "oil jockey's" all thought they were "mechanics". Till one day he left Jiffy Lube and tried to get a job at a few local dealers as a "Mechanic" and they asked where he got his training.
Yeah, I’m sure they laughed at him after he left the interview.
So he got mad about not getting any of those jobs so he went to a mechanic school. It blew his mind at how much he didn't know or was totally wrong about. Now fully licensed and experienced he refuses to take his car to Jiffy Lube...now knowing that "retards" (his words, not mine) are pretty much under his car.
That and he says they totally are to sabotage peoples cars, loosen stuff, cut hoses and whatnot. He said they had a filthy air filter around the shop and when doing the inspection they'd show a customer how bad they need an air filter (like the dirty filter came off their car). He said it worked 90% of the time, sometimes people knew that was not from their car and called them on it...they just say "yeah but yours looks like this". And all kinda of shady sneaky ways they got extra $$$ out of you. He told me this years ago and I’ve never gone anywhere but the dealer or my own driveway since

Yup, and my autoshop teacher back in H.S told us they did that with oil pans and transmission pans too. Theyd have metal shavings in there.

Again I say, @!#$ those little bastards. I wish Jiffy Lube would get shut down for good because of @!#$ like this, they have been called out on it and still continue to do it and they are still in business?
Crap like this is just un-thinkable to me. I would personally ring someones @!#$ neck if they did any of this crap to my car, I am soo glad I have the knowledge that I do and can work on my own stuff..

I only had one experience where I knew they didn't change the oil but wouldn't do anything about it. This sounds more like a specific chain of shops purposefully swindling customers.
