Very nice. What do you have done to the goat? My buddy has an 06 and we race all the time. Hes stock right now other than K&N air filter..

My best time so far this year was 12.98, but i need new tires. I did it against an 05 GT0 too. he ran a 13.3 He was auto tho but had headers.

Actually there was a c5 z06. The only run I actually saw him make was slower that all of my runs except for 1.

The guy in the blue gto just got his cam and new clutch put in and this is his first time at that track period so he had some adjusting to do.

Well my mods are in my profile along w/ time slips but I will list them here.

This was my first time at the track w/ mickey thompson drag radials and drag bags so there was and still is a learning curve there for me.

Nice.... I was going to say you had to have something done cause it sounds nice...
Yea my 12.9 was my fisrt time at the track too with the vette... I wish I had some drag tires tho.. You had a pretty good launch with those it looked like. Not much wheel spin. I have seen Stock C5 Z06s dip high 11s with a drag slick. but normally around 12.4s

Alot of what gave him that better launch was his tires too, the blue GTO was probably running regular street tires, I am guessing Sappy had a drag radial on there judging by the mis-matched wheels. What kind of tires were you running Sappy?

He does have a 20hp advantage and a brand new clutch and flywheel.

nice runs. what psi did you have the tires at?

Re: New Vid of my GTO at the track!

First run was at 23 and you can hear me spin some off of the line. The rest except for the last one of the runs were at 22 then the last one I went down to 20.
I was bogging off the line w/ 22psi. So I launched a 4k rpms and cut that 1.8 60' time.
Drag bags were at 15psi for the last run.

Quote:

Does wheelhop plague your new GTO? This is a common side effect in independent rear suspensions caused by the inability to properly dampen vertical wheel movement with applied torque. Combine this with the minimal rear suspension travel of the new Goat and your bouncing off the bumpstops every time you stab the throttle. An easy solution to this is stiff rear spring rates, however ride quality then becomes an issue as well as excessive oversteer. The best solution is a set of BMR Drag Bags. This is an old solution to a relatively new problem. Spring rate can be altered by simply adding air (without effecting ride height) and ride quality remains un-effected when the bag is deflated.

I have the other drag bags, the one for a MPV, a little bit different fit but not cutting involved.

That was the first decent launch I got was the 1.8 so I still have a bit of playing around with it to do. You want your tires to be as inflated as possible.
How much rwhp are you making paco? That may affect your results too. Also, I launched at 4k rpm to get that 60'
