maybe they want the sleeper look?
Maybe they're smart enough to save money? On normal boost applications they say a SMIC is just as efficient if not more efficient because its not blocking your radiator. With that being said FMIC is still #1 for popularity not to mention a lot bigger. Which do you think would cost more?
its not more effeicent . no way in hell.
I doesnt make anysense. Id be way concearend about a high boost app with a ic mounted in the bay. hot air is much more dangerous then hot water.
I dont think its a sleeper look. its the weirdest thing, everyone has them. I cant figure it out.
oh well.

Ok, maybe
normal boost was a bad word. How about
low boost.
Haven't you noticed most factory boosted cars dont use FMIC? Its probably because they all hate themr ight? Dont even go with the SRT-4. That car is set for ricers and tuners. I think it would have a FMIC even if it wasn't turboed. Most low boost cars use a top mount or side mount. You can cool a few lbs of boost just fine and dandy. Ask the V8 guys. They are using twin turbos with dual side mounts like crazy. You dont need a HUGE FMIC to keep your system cool when you're on 6lbs of boost or so.
Who pimps out a Corrolla anyway?

The side mount is just easier to do. If you can get a @!#$load of power for less money, why not? They're just easier, that's why they're so popular.
