The 2008 Pontiac Vibe prototype caught in recent spy photos looks a lot like the current model, with its angular nose and sloping roof line. We expect it will stick with four-cylinder engines too, although an upgrade to something with more torque would be a welcome change. Expect to see this Vibe make its official debut in the spring of 2007, with sales beginning roughly six months later. found on edmunds

It's Aztek you silly silly people

Thats almost entirely camo.... look at all that stuff that is taped and strapped to it... nothing on the back is actually part of the car.

Maybe Im just pissed, pissed that my freinds are spineless, What else would you
call abandoment some night, when you're in a fight, and they could make things right?
Spineless. I miss some of my old friends, the ones who you could count on,
bet a huge amount on, the fact that they'd always have your back... Its like a kick in
the sack, just knowing, you've got nothing to fall back on. @!#$ this, Im done.
the vibe/aztek is still around? i'll be damned! BRING BACK THE GREY PLASTIC BODY PANELS!!!!! PLASTIC CLADDING FTW!!!
GO PATS!!!
AUTOBOTS, TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!!!

BTW, yeah, it's body cladding. The Vibe wasn't too angular when it first hit the market, so I don't think this iteration will be too bad either. And the Vibes looked about a billion times better when they ditched the Chevy-esque grey body panels.

doesnt look like it will change much
i showed those to dave last week , LOL
yeah its not the best looking
The shape fo the back end reminds me of the back end of the Caliber. Kind of lame to make the roof slope like that, some of us like to use roof racks, still possible? Meh, didn't like the way the last ones looked either with the grill flush with the front, too mini van for my taste. Wonder what it'll end up looking like this time.
that car is god aweful and even worse than the current version

Stargrrl: The rear is camouflaged. The squared-out bit most likely isn't what the shape will be. The Spoiler is an affectation as well I'm pretty sure. Ace said it best that most of the rear isn't what the car looks like.
You can see all the boxes covered with black vinyl and tape.

LoL
I am glad to see here that YOU all have X-Ray vision and can see passed the heavy camouflage.

He is correct.
The car will be revised and will maintain the current form, it will be just updated in design, safety, refinement and power.
BTW I would not be surprised the car in the pic is a Toyota Matrix.

Thats what I said. Judging by the overall shape of things, such as the doors, windshield and hood, it's not going to be a massive change. Obviously the front and rear are going to see the biggest change. I think the front bumper and possibly the headlights are completely new, with no resemblance to the previous model. It is impossible to tell with the back end though, its too covered up.
Oh and if you compare the car with any current vehicle, STFU, you can't even tell what its going to look like, in these pics the cars are completely camouflaged.

It doesn't look to be very much more sloped then the current model, maybe slightly more. There is another spy pic floating around that shows the car with roof rails, so yes it will still be possible. (see

I HOPE that means Ecotec! The Yamaha/Toyota engine is a piece of crap. Its my biggest beef with the car.

My gf got a vibe about a year ago. And, I would have to say, at first it didn't look like much. But after triding in it and seeing all it had to give to the driver, its actually kinda cool. I can't wait to see what is being done with the new one

Interesting. Does air just float over the top? My first thought is that it's not quite the best way for air to flow, angling everything up in the front might trap more air and pull on the cargo? I really don't know if that's how it would work, just throwing it out there to see if someone does. Seems funny to angle a roof like that and use a roof rack. Then again, I doubt most folks actually use theirs as much as I use the one on my Subaru so it wouldn't be a top concern.
Hey now, if I'm not allowed to compare it's shape to anything, nobody is allowed to like or dislike it either. After all, it's all in camo!
Nathaniel O'Flaherty wrote:id say the roof looks to slope WAY too much. at least for my taste.
I think the roof slope is nice. It makes it look a little more sleeker, more like a car/crossover then a minivan or SUV. Check out this (semi)profile, and imagine how stupid it would look if the roof was completely straight...
I just compared the pics to the current generation Vibe, and in my opinion, the roof slope has not changed at all. Take a look at the following pic:

It is somewhat misleading because of the roof rails. The slope of the roof can clearly be seen though if you ignore the black/silver roof rails on top and just look at the orange in that pic. Here's another one that I think makes it pretty obvious...
