Couldn't be a mustang factory, not enough rust on those trees.

Everytime someone get pissy about my posts, my dick gets a little harder.

That car is nice, but still ugly. I would take the one from Gone in 60 seconds over that one anyday!

that IS the modern replica of the one from gone in 60. personally it looks almost exactly like it. how could you not like this one and but like Eleanor?

Classic versus pretender.

Eleanor was designed by Chip Foose and Superformance, and actually attempted to look something like a factory Shelby Cobra. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you could order an Eleanor with 800 HP... If not 800 then pretty damned close. The car had the original body lines (which, even though I'm a GM guy, are pretty nice) and looked like a classic muscle car. The new one has watered-down lines, a watered down engine (which is still pretty stout, but it loses points for being in the F-150 as well) and tries to be the Mustang of yore.

If you didn't notice, I'm not a big fan of the current Mustangs, although, I will give credit where credit is due, the engine can be made very potent, and the chassis is better sorted out than the Falcon chassis was originally. New Mustangs have it all over the original fast-backs, except for the style and reputation.

That Cervini's kit looks a little too garish for my taste anyhow, and ANY Mustang that wants to be a serious Muscle Car in the classic sense of the word needs either Cragar or Halibrand rims... This is not up for discussion.

... you're knocking the Cervini for what it is... a reasonable facsimile. The physics
behind any copy, no matter how good, is that it will never completely duplicate
the original. I don't think anyone here would take new mustang over the original
Eleanor. Having said that, the Cervini makes a better daily driver (ironically, you
CAN drive a new Cervini like you stole it, while you'd have to drive the older, more
expensive Eleanor with a higher degree of care).

oh and JINXED. I knew your were joking. You get 10 points for dishing out humor,
but I'm subtracting 11 for not taking a joke.

I wasn't knocking it for being a facsimile... I'm knocking it because it doesn't look good.

I was also comparing stock 65 fastback vs stock 06 Mustang GT... I'm not a real fan of Retro especially when you try to make a lithe body line straight and slab... And yes, I'm not a huge fan of the 08 Camaro, but I also realise that it's going to be a potent car.

Hehe, I get jokes...

Personally, I would like the Cervini kit 100 times better if it didn't have the GT foglights in the lower grill. I understand it's suppose to be a representation of the original Eleanor style Mustangs, but I'm just not too fond of that style on the S197 Mustangs.

I like the GT lights in the upper grill (even centered)...they just look awkward to me in the lower grill.

to me, that is the best mustang ever made. the original mach 1.

the shelby's were ok, but there are too many fake shelbys running around. plus, when i found out carol shelby was handing out VINS to make your fake into a real shelby, that really turned me off of them.

eleanor was a decent car, but to me the mach 1 will always be the best mustang ever made.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

wasnt it a 67 gt 500?
Re: CNN: Mustang factory burns down

yea its a 67 GT500

The Mach 1 was pathetically slow for both the time and present, i wouldnt go that far in saying it was the best design , the only thing worse was the mustang 2
