I thought I would let you all in on the progress of my Aveo build-up. After the Cavalier was totalled, I moved onto the Hatchback style I always liked and also was able to stick with a GM product.

I love the car, dare I say MORE then my Cavalier, its fun to drive, difficult to modify (less aftermarket support then the Cavalier), and yet rewarding to drive (like driving a Go-cart).

the front acctually looks pretty good, from the side it still has that odd mini-car look to it
but good to see someone modding something different, i like

I hate to break it to ya, GM Daewoo (or GMDAT) is GM.
GM owns 2/3 share in it... it's GM.
And now for something completely different... Click the Minister.
gm also owns fiat who owns part of ferrari

so whats the expected date for it too look like this????????????
Hmmm... interesting...Why would I want to make my car look just like something GM has already done and left for dead?
I'm making my carh unique for myself. That means doing things that haven't been done yet.

and yet you put a pre-fabbed body kit on
anywho
i dont like that rear bumper
too much space in the back
Yeah... pre-fabbed kit prototyped ON MY CAR. These parts you see where made by Versus off of my cars factory pieces.
The side skirts are custom made, and the rear is being custom re-made.

not a fan. its not a car worthy of putting that kind of $$$ into. to each their own.

GM holds stake in Fuji Heavy Industries who owns or has stake in Subaru.
The Aveo isn't my cup of tea, but it's not the worst thing ever. I would have taken that modding money and used it towards a nicer car.

Subaru is the auto division of FHI, but GM hasn't owned any of FHI
for over a year now.

What happened to GM's other 11.3%?
Gone apparently.

Well thanks for all the comments. I always liked hatchbacks over sedans/coupes in general and I like GM, so I thought this car was a good fit for me.
I bought it at a great deal from Jim at Gravana Tuning, and have rebuilt it comepletely since its time at SEMA 2004. I'm hoping to make 2007 with the completed project.
The most fun I'd say about the car is the fact that mosteverything I have to do I have to get one-off, since the aftermarket support is even worse then for the J-bodies. That's why I like it, truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

hmmm interesting. so fast to get your patys in a bunch. i actually like the aveos. they arent fast but you probably knew that when you bought it. besides the gm concept was pretty freakin awesome for what they had. only thing i didnt like was that it was an auto. but it was outfitted with an ecotec motor. and if you want something unique. wether or not it was prototyped on your car its pretty much the only kit they make for it so its not going to be that unique.
