Saturn will stage the world debut of its redesigned 2008 Vue at the Los Angeles auto show late this month. The 2007 Opel Antara and 2008 Vue are virtual clones when it comes to exterior styling. The sheet metal is shared, as are the fascias and the greenhouse. The two vehicles are distinguished mainly by the brand emblem at the top of each vehicle's grille. The Vue is a crossover developed by GM Daewoo Auto & Technology on a front-drive unibody platform. Antara sales begin in Germany, Austria and Switzerland this year and the rest of continental Europe early next year.
The Antara is assembled in South Korea. The Vue will be assembled in the United States, but General Motors has not identified the plant yet.
The redesigned Vue will be priced higher than the 2007 model too.
The 2008 Vue continues as a five-seater with dimensions nearly the same as the 2007 model. One big difference on the outside is the body panels. The current Vue has composite panels, and the 2008 model has sheet metal.
I'll keep you all posted.

the 2003+ models have a 4 cyl ECOTEC or a 6 cyl 3400. both GM motors, ive never heard of them using a Honda motor.
WRONG
the 04+ have the ecotec or the 3500
the 02-03 had the honda v6 or ecotec

i hate to do this, but still not right...
02 and 03 had the Opel 3.0 V6 w/5-speed auto
04 to current had the Honda 3.5 V6 w/5-speed auto
all years had the Ecotec available with 5-speed manual or CVT automatic
personally, I would love a plastic-bodied vehicle with a Honda motor, that thing would last forever (with proper maintainence, etc.)
Yes.. When I got my Ion in 05, I test drove an 06 Vue with the Honda v6 engine. Man was it nice, just a tad out of my price range at the time. I don't like this Vue at all.. And I don't like the Ion replacement either. So I'm buying a used Honda when my lease is finally up.

I like it. A LOT. Though personally, I'd be happier with a turbo 4 cyl instead of a six in this kind of vehicle (like hte Acura RDX...).

seriously... why dont they just ditch saturn and bring opel to the states... im sure it would be just a
little more cost effective than rebadging every opel into a saturn... cuz thats wht they're doing...

If I remember correctly, some Opel based cars will be built in Mexico. It would cost a lot of money to transform all Saturn dealerships into Opel dealerships, not to mention the American people (in general) probably don't know what kind of history Opel has. Saturn has been around for a while, so why not just build the Opel based cars closer to America where they do not have to ship the cars overseas anymore? GM has a few plants that are platform flexible and can build a variety of different platforms from one plant. It's not so cost effective to just abandon Saturn and introduce Opel to the States.

GM has announced the pricing for the 2008 Saturn Vue model, and you will have a bad suprise to hear that the price is $3,295 over the 2007 model (the base price for the re-engineered, restyled Vue is $21,395 including shipping).
Keep in mind that the previous model had a smaller four-cylinder engine with a manual transmission. A four-speed automatic transmission and a bigger engine - a 169-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder - are standard on the 2008. A manual transmission is no longer offered.

No manual FTL but it explains part of the price jump.
