How To Make Your Own Custom Bumper

found this on another forum guys did an excellent job

thats cool and all...but i dont think you need all the foam....coould esily jut brace certain areas....but still cool

what i forgot to put in there was after he made it he had a mold made and then a bumper made from the mold

The foam makes it easier to see what you are making. He basically sculpted the bumper, then sealed the design with glass. The only thing I would be worried about is the fiberglass seperating from the bumper on the top and sides.

I've always wondered if those foam blocks would hold up to the heat of the fiberglass. I usually use a 2part urethane foam, but this is good to know for smaller projects.

he did a fantastic job.
i love the thread that is floating around here where they made a ferrari out of an NSX.
they used pretty much the same concept. great stuff!
i just wish i had a little more time on my hands.

ive been following this bumper since i bought my stealth... it was made to loook like the front of an S7 i believe. I liked it at first, cause it will fit my stealth with a change of side markers, but then i realized i don't want a fiberglass bodykit ever again. The bumper is in production now though i believe.

thats how i do some of my projects, my gauge pod was done that way. looks like he did a good job.

i cant seem to find em but go to www.deftracing.com there is probably contact info there, he still actively makes very nice stuff for stealths and 3kgts. Im sure he still has those pics.
