Haven't you seen Gone in 60 Seconds? If a Shelby on the juice can outrun a helicopter, by god a 600 hp machine that weighs less than a ton can.

actually the police helicopters can be out run. there was a vid of an older impala ss out running the helicopter, too bad he ran out of gas before the border. you'd run out of gas way before you got anywhere. how big do you think those injectors are (probably comparable to a water hose). i bet if you stay in that thing full throttle youd be out of gas before 30minutes was up.
