'02-'04 contains two different grand prix.
'02-'03 is the "older" style grand prix with the series II engine and a gen III M90 supercharger producing 240hp and 280lb/ft torque. they weight a little less, but have a little less power. stock 1/4 mile times are usually low 15's, high 14's. in the 14.0-15.2 area, depending upon where you are, temperature, launch, blah blah blah.
'04 grand prix is the new body style with the series III engine with a gen V M90 supercharger producing 260hp and 280lb/ft torque. they have a little more power, but weight more. stock times are usually low 15's, high 14's. more so in the low 15's, though.
i think it's a good plan, but im bias. i own one. any other questions, feel free to ask

Andy

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.
ZZP XP cam, 1.6 rockers, 105# springs, speedbuilt FWI, 3.3" modular pulley, TOG headers,
3" exhaust, flomatched injectors
'97 GTP 14.06@100.6mph pre cam w/ 3.5" pulley, I/E

I own a 03 GP GT with just the 3800 (3.8) n/a and I love it. in my opinion I think they are pretty peppy for a n/a car but then again this is the grocery getter too. so not many mods are going to be done on this one (yet)

**changes are here**

the 3 cars i was looking at when i went to buy a new car was 93-97 camaro z28, 97-02 GTP and 96-98 328/M3

after driving all the cars i came to the conclusion that the bmw 328 was the car for me because it way out handled both the camaro z28 and GTP not to mention it out handles most everything out there lol, while being slower then the Camaro its slightly faster then a GTP. they can be made quick for relatively cheap if you do your research and if one ever decided to go FI the stock engine and stock tranny can hold over 700WHP!! gotta love that BMW over engineering

and all thats not to mention the amazingly nice interior
you can find a nice 328 for around the same price as a GTP i got mine for $4995 with 118k on it in mint condition
if you want a car just for strait line performance go with the GTP(if modded) or Camaro but if you want the best of both worlds 328 is the way to go

o btw if you need an Auto dont bother looking at the 328 unless you just want something with good handling because there much lower then the 5 speeds, if that was the case i would go with the GTP over both the camaro and 328

if you want any more info regarding any of the cars let me know id be glad to help

There's six years difference between you 328 and the GTP he would want. That's not really a good comparison.

I'd say go GTP. I'm a fan of those cars. That, or a Regal GS .

O noes!

regals are cool as hell. if i get another w-body, it'll be a regal, but only as a second. i wouldnt take it over the GTP
