GT500 #s... is history repeating itself?

I am not supporter on the use of a dyno for accurate power measurement...
But haven't we heard this before or something similar?

Not flaming you Mr.Goodwrench. Lets see after the car cooled down it picked up some hp (even tho the IAT temps were a hair hotter)... go figure. He complained about 98 degree IAT temps. Try 130+ degree IAT tems. If you were trying to compare w/ the terminators he says he doesn't think a pully swap will be possible.

Still some nice numbers even if the car does weigh in at 3900+ lbs. I want my s/c now...

I still want a c6 though.

I just can't get hyped up about a car that has (or supposed to have) 500hp, but is that portly and costs the same proce as a vette.

Now, I'm the biggest GTO fanboy ever (even though I don't own one ) and it is heavy, but its 10 grand less on a bad day, 13 on a good. (and hopefull y15 with GMS )

I wrote this post a long time ago, a real long time ago, back in 94.

The gto is also a good 200 lbs lighter than a GT500 on a bad day.

Another Dyno Pull on a stock GT500, although this one doesnt have a dyno sheet to prove it. So one could argue its not real??

i saw a gt500 saturday , i gotta say the pulley is pretty small

and it is very funny looking compaired to the normal pullies ive seen

also it looks like it is almost 2" wide for the belt , wider than the previous 8rib used on the cobra

Its always nice to see a 500hp Mustang running high 12's !?!?!?!

I'm sure its great from a roll though HAHAHAHA

The funny thing about the GT500 is that it isnt really the total weight that is a killer, its the huge weight bias towards the front of the car(ie the heavy ass engine)....that makes it very hard to hook up.

Did anyone catch the response that said,
Quote:

Now go find a Z06 and show them who's BOSS!

Haha, just when I start to warm up to the Ford and Dodge guys (just because I like them more than Imports) They say something like this. I nearly fell off my chair laughing

hmm lets do the math, 3900 lb car w/ 500hp on a good day vs a 3200lb car w/ 500hp stock on a bad day.

Any takers on who will win?

Although the power to weight ratio of C5 Z06 is similar to the GT500. I still have my money on the C5 Z06... I may be biased though.

Hmm 200 + LBS less + the driver mod the GTO should be nosing out a GT500 if driver were equal at 480 FWHP or at about 390-400 at the wheels. For a stock GT500 that is warmed up refering to the link you made.

Fly wheel HP

i was kinda being some what sarcastic

but im sure my friends here in phx would give 1 a decent run at the track , since his best is a 12.5 @ 111 , and a week and a half ago ran a 12.9 @ 109

and he didnt get his HP tuner stuff tell a week ago

kinda sucks they gto and the gt500 are some dam heavy , if they woulda kept them around 3400 it woulda been about perfect
