just riding around in the 4 door cav
is that a nation wide list or just a local list
The IS300 has always been expensive to insure.
What about the least expensive to ensure?
here is a new list, I'm 18 so that basicly says any car is to expensive to insure for me lol

i'd argue that list is incorrect, if you compare it to money spent nationally for per vehicle insurance.
Also I'm pretty confident there are a number or exotics a bit more. What were the restrictions on price range?
The list seems a little skewed to me.

^^^ i'm sure its mass produced vehicles. Something tells me a Enzo is more expensive to insure then an evo. Like I said its probably just mass produced vehicles.
Every time I see an Evo around here, it is always driven by some kid who looks 16 and is acting like a hard ass. So that doesn't surprise me . . .
When I was 20, I got an insurance quote on an Evo. Minding you, with a perfect driving record, the companys wanted around $1200 as a down payment, and payments of about $520 a month.

I doubt it. You gotta think who buys enzos. Hell I bet quite a few enzos dont have full coverage. Plus, isn't there some kind of special insurance you can get for exotics?

It is all about risk assessment.
And a lot of other factors besides the make and model of the car goes into determining insurance rates.
While that list may be true is some place, at some time, for some people, I dont think it can be generalized.

They are right about the Thunderbirds being cheap.
I have had 2 Ford Thunderbirds, 1983 5.0 and 1994 LX V6...for the 94, I was paying about 80 bucks every two months for full coverage when I was 17-20 years old.
1) Total Value of the car
2) Replacement costs of parts, body, etc in the event of an accident
3) Risk assessment (age, driving record, etc)
All factors in insurance. Of course an Evo will cost a lot to insure. Their all driven by young punks who want to race anything/everything that comes their way, hence high risk. Its the same reason why suddenly the Eclipse and Civic rates went up after F&TF came out. The Eclipse/Civic phase wasn't all that big before that movie, and as soon as it came out, every other street racer wanted one, hence risk went up.
Doubtful an Enzo would be a high risk actually. Do you really think some 30-50 year old guy wants to go outside and race his $600K PLUS car for fun?? Of course the cost of replacement would be outrageous, but thats the only big factor in an Enzo, lol. Makes you wonder?

these are all high theft cars, some for parts, some for export (mostly the high end ones) and some because there sporty and fun to steal.
i think a big part of insuring a car is the theft risk.

I could of swore the toyota carolla would be on there. I'm actually quite surprised

when you beat someone in a civic people wine and make excuses
when you beat someone in a cavalier they pull over and check under thier hoods
So that's why my lesabre didn't cost much....haha.
It's not about the drivers (well it is, but that's not the big factor), it's not about the replacement cost. It's about the cost to repair from minor accisents. The Evo suffers from the FMIC. A low speed fender bender (most common accident) will cost you at leat $3000 to repair an Evo. Same goes for the SRT and for that matter, my Talon is roughly the same ins. cost as a Merc SLK. Figure that out. It's because right behing the bumper is a rather expensive piece of alluminum that will be destroyed by as little as a pinhole.
They don't crash well, that is the issue. Also the likelyhood that the driver and passengers will be hurt in a collision factoirs in. Again, they don't crash well.
The Malibu get's low insurance because of it's fantastic safety features. It crashes really well and therefore is cheap to insure.
PAX
maybe this list is of the average cost to insure each car in the states
for example say there are 10 camaros in the states
5 teenagers drive a camaro insurance.. guess 150 a month 1800 a year
5 adults drive a camaro insurace guess 50 a month 600 a year
so that averages to 1200 per year to insure a sunfire
now
sunfire
8 teenagers drive a sunfire guess 140 a month 1680 a year
2 adults drive a sunfire guess 40 a month 480 a year
so that averages 1200 dollars a year per driver
maybe that is how the list is done????????????? because obviously the camaro should be more to insure than the sunfire.. but they are the same based on the averages ive done..
