A stock Ninja 250 comes with only one brake lamp. It has a center brake lamp with a reflector on either side. Using a Ninja 250 community I found out that you can actually put sockets and bulbs and wire them up to have two more brake lights for a total of three in back end. It's nice and bright and wasn't too difficult and I'm very pleased with the results.

Even if I do upgrade to a bigger bike I'll definately keep the 250. It's not all about horsepower, this bike will eat any 500+ alive in the corners.

lol thats funny, but good luck with it
How did you get the brake light on standing 6 ft away?
trust me, i used to have a 500 Ninja...
you won't have it for long
Shoulda shaved that turn signal/plate holder/mudflap, and made the two outer ones into the turn signals

Trust me, I will. Like I said, even if I do want something bigger, which I really don't, I still keep the 250. I like taking windy back roads more than doing 200 MPH on the highway and nothing will outhandle the little 250.

good question, zip tie?
Heh, I'm surprised anyone caught that. If you look in the flash pictures you can see it sitting on the bars. It's and old wiring harness for something, just tied it in a quick knot.

I plan on shaving that fender assembly sometime. I'd need to custom fab a bracket for the license plate, license plate light, and turn signals though.
once you ride a nice 600, you'll realize how crappy ur 250 handles compared to the 600.
and when u ride a 1000 youll be like wtf was i thinking about that crap 250....even in turns
Still better than the no bike that I have.
I've been on my fair share of bikes and have owned 3 now and the 250R was my first. I got to tell ya, there is no better bike to learn on, but it is not a long term bike.

Ignorance is bliss. So, because someone chooses a smaller bike over a larger one automatically means that person has never ridden a bike of the larger size? My family and friends have had motorcycles since I was a kid and I've ridden just about every size of bike on and off road. Also, one of my friends that I work with has a Yamaha YZR what the hell ever 600 that I've ridden quite a few times and it's weight is definately noticeable in the corners. My other friend has an older Ninja 1000R that is DEFINATELY noticeable in the corners.
Same concept that applies to cars applies to bikes. My Ninja 250R (think... Elise) will outhandle anything bigger (think... Mustang GT) due to the fact that it is smaller and lighter.
Now that that has been explained, I could care less about what you think I
should be riding. I chose the Ninja 250R for a number of reasons (cost, MPG, weight) and am very pleased with it. This thread is for the discussion of my first mod to the bike.
With all that said above, I won't comment on the type of bike you chose, but I will on the mod. I like it! Im not such a fan of random reflectors, and its good that you made them working lights. I wish you took a before as well of the brighness of that light.
I just got a R6, been modding it a little as well, I'll get some pictures up for sure

I didn't think of taking a before picture until it was done, so I kinda missed the opportunity. Though, I plan on adding flush mount turn signals in the front and turning them into DRLs to make it easily recognizable as a motorcycle at night.
looks good how much was the bike an hows insurance on it?
You got a lot to learn about riding there Zeke. Come riding in the twisties with me on my new RR I just ordered and we'll see who out handles who. Rider skill also goes a long way, so have fun starin at the little dot you'll see as me pulling further and further ahead.
Ur bike dry weight 305lbs, my bike dry weight is only 55 lbs more at 360. Now take into account the way better suspension as well as tires on the RR, you have not chance, and with the way these new sport bikes are balanced the 50 lbs difference wont make any kind of a difference, and you consider riding a yzf 600 and a old 1000 ninja riding good bikes? Those t hings arent no where near capable of handling with the new sport bikes.
Just admit it ucant handle a real bike, c'mon u know it.
You just can't jump on a bike and hit corners because you think the bike is suppose to handle good, you'll lay it down. It's not like a car. If a tire breaks lose in a car, you are pretty much safe. Do that on a bike and you'll lay it down. I know, it happened to me 3 weeks ago today. The rider makes more of a difference on a bike than the bike. There's no agruement there.
I wished I kept my 250 now, too, even though I'm on a 636. I got 75mpg on the 250. Only 40 on the 636.
Here's a good article written by Pashnit (a 'busa owner) on his suprising fondness for the 250 ...
