which cobalt? ls, ss, ss supercharged? you gotta give more details... but i believe the ls is about the same and the ss and the ss supercharged are miles ahead of the ls sport cavies.

you have to look at power and weight.
cavaliers are lighter but have the same 2.2 as the colbalts.
the ss however, has a 2.0 supercharge engine. I think its some thing like 220 or 230
the ss would beat a stock cav

Concern here is that Cobalt weighs in 250-400lbs more depending on trim.

Would definitely be a close race. With a base pulling between 15.4 down to a 15.2 in full stock trim (my car is a 15.4) would be a nice race to see.
I test drove an 05 Cavy LS sport and a 05 Coby LS back to back one day, and the Cavy felt quicker off the line, but the Coby pulls a lot harder in the higher speeds.
SC 2000 to 2002 Z24 > SS Cobalt.

my base model rental cobalt is definately slower than my 02 4door z24 with the 2.4
