Finally got myself out of my cavalier and into a 2003 VW GTI 1.8t.
It was a toss up between this one and one with a stick but it didnt have the leather, sunroof, or premium audio. In the end I got the automatic, and it ended up being cheaper than the one with stick with less features. I am exstatic. The build and ride of the car are ridiculous, and the turbo is nice too. Let the modification begin!
PS- Darkstars bite your tongue, because all the stuff Ive read that you have written, I opted for the certification to extend the warranty to 74000 miles, shes got 27000 on her now.
Enough, on to the pics.
You suck......I've always wanted one of those

Gotta love that interior.
You have no idea how torn I was between the two cars, my dad and I were driving back and forth between the two dealerships for at least 45 mins, in the end it came down to him pressuring me into the auto, saying well you can drive home the auto today or wait a few weeks to think about the stick, since I woul dbe new to manual transmissions. Tiptronic is fun enough, already ordered my forge dv, and setup an appointment to get the GIAC chip put in in Jacksonville, ill post vids etc once its not so stock.
be careful with mods that would void the warrenty

^^^ Like a chip
Just be carefull on the mods you do, VW Tiptronics dont respond well to high boost.
JCO EAST
good choice on the certification
Apparently the Revo chip is undetectable, and I hear the tiptronic can handle 300 ft lbs of torque which I will never approach, the mods wouldnt extend past wheels, brakes, chip, dv, suspension, and body stuff. Too nice to screw up.
Dont waste your time with Revo, go with GIAC

Revo = no warranty either...They're all "supposed" to be un-detectable...You can even switch back to stock if you want. If a dealer really wants to find it, they will.

Well first of nice ride, thats a big jump from a Cavailer
also how much did this car cost
We got them down to 15,200 for the car KBB is 18,650. After taxes, tag and damned dealer fees 17000 even out the door. Well worth it.
Not trying to be mean, but for 17,000 I would have gone WRX. Better built, practically guarenteed to hold up better over time, better powertrain, better interior....
Good luck with your car though, sounds like you're happy with it.
When dealing with chips and vw mods ABD is the way to go.

People thrash their WRX and to buy a used one, for me wasnt an option. I wanted somethin gpristine and un-fidled with. Plus I hate the design of the WRX I could have afforded, onyl recently have they become attractive in my eye. As for the interior I would argue otherwise, 4 doors ewww. Personal preference.

On the other side though, people thrash GTI's just as much. And there are pristine and un-fiddled-with WRX's too. Not really much to argue about styling, it's all personal. And yeah, 4 doors = eww, but to me hatchback = eww-er. (Not being argumenative, just saying...Besides, I don't even like WRX's that much, I just dislike VW's more)
At least wesman isn't around, or we'd be hearing all the "Cobalt SS > ALL" talk.
Should have gone with a GTI LOL. My friend has a 337 GTi and just had a bunch of work done to it, Stage 3 APR plus kit LSD, 3" exhaust and tons more and let me tell you this car is ungodly fast
Yes it is a cavalier deal with it
