gm would produce the camaro. because gm would know that pontiac already has the gto, which shares a chassis with the new camaro. and there having a hard time meeting sales #s for the gto now. so why would pontiac have compettion with itself, selling the same car with different sheetmetal.

Doesn't help that GM retired the Firebird namesake either.
They never retired Camaro...but Firebird did get the permanent axe.

That was both. The most recent T/A and Camaro was 2002.
They are bringing the Camaro back.
There was speculation about a new Trans Am about 2 weeks after they anounced the return of the Camaro. Since the beginning, all the speculation was BS.

thats nothing more than some random persons photoshopping skills. I believe it started on gminsidenews.com, people started making photoshops and that just happened to be the most popular.
And about there being no GTO, too soon to tell IMO. I know theres been things saying its going on hiatus, then other things that says its done. Pontiac WILL have a RWD v8 coupe on the same platform as camaro... whether it is GTO or firebird is a toss up, sure lutz said it was dead... but bringing back the DEAD firebird would be one hell of a surprise.

I dont care what GM says. Look at their track record regarding 'what they say' vs 'what they do'. For all we know we'll see a new Nova in a few years.

Another thing.
Inter-Company rivalry does NOT exist within GM platforms. That is to say, the 4th gen F-Bodys didnt not compete with each other for sales... GM never viewed it that way either... Camaro or T/A, they didnt care, you were still buying an F-Body. They were more worried about TOTAL F-Body sales taking away from Corvette Sales. That would of been inter-company competition
between platforms. In regards to the new T/A... if they make a GTO on the same platform that the Camaro will be on, there will be no T/A.

exactly, I wont say one or the other isnt going to be made, and I dont really care what was said. There WILL be a GTO OR a TA on the camaro platform. I'd like to see the TA/camaro on the same platform and maybe something else for the GTO, but I think that would be a little much. So we just get to sit and wait now IMO

That is a fake as the day is long, but is sexy as all hell. they'd sell alot more of those than the camaro. besides ask anyone what car has a better brand image a TA or GTO?
Personally when i think of a TA i think of Smoket and the Bandit, and Knight Rider and all the evil and cool looking cars in the entire line up. the GTO, IMHO only had one year where it looked good and was worth a darn. the first gen.
