Fired it up (first time in months)

Camera sucks. Not sure if the tape is jacked up or if the camera was hating life.
Sound is fine though.

http://home.comcast.net/~mrluos/firststart.wmv

Doesn't idle at 950 RPM's too well yet. Probably gonna have to bump that up.
The camera sound doesn't pick up the actual sound very well. It sounded much better in person. Although even that will change once it gets a good tune on it.
No leaks.
Oil pressure was up around 60 PSI at 1400 RPM's.

is it just me? or is your cam HUGE? or is that the bad idle you was talking about? sounds like once you get it tuned it should run reeeal perdy

Cam is pretty big. 248/254 629/622 113
It wouldn't idle on its own yet. Needed throttle support.

Needs tuned for sure though. Also...I might try to get it out of the garage and started. I think it echo'd pretty bad in there.

you know there is a break in for a new cam. your supposed to go from a certin rpm to a higher one then back each for a certin time. it should be listed with the cam. im assuming you got a new cam in it. sounds like it will be real mean when shes all set.

yeah but theres also a saying that with a new cam you're gonna within the first 20-30seconds if it wasn't installed correctly or if theres something wrong with it...when something goes wrong

if it ain't broke...MAKE IT GO FASTER

New LSx cam doesn't need broken in.

Timing was set, I made sure of that. It isn't just a new cam...it is a completely new stroker.

Hopefully I can have a shot outside the garage in a couple weeks.
Maybe sooner if I haul ass in the garage the next couple days.

how much for that motor ? completed. I am currently looking for a C5 FRC and that would be one wicked combination if I dont go with the D1SC or VQ S Vortec.

Sounds good, I was going to ask if you had a cam in it. Sounded real loopy. Then I read the post.

I'm sure that video doesn't do its justice for that sound of that car. Like to see it in action.

The shortblock alone (all forged) was $3700.
Add heads
Add cam
Add intake
Add clutch

You get the idea.

Got the radiator installed.
All the hoses as well. Including the power steering cooler.
Drained the tranny. Need to fill tomorrow.
I still need to add coolant to radiator.
Driveshaft loop is up, torque arm needs to follow.
Rear control arms need installed.
Wiring under car needs hung up properly.
Need to find a bellow to install between the MAF and the throttle body. The one I have doesn't fit.
Need to bleed the brakes.

Basic tune is coming Wednesday/Thursday.

Couple pics....

After looking at it...I decided I will be painting the area marked here.
It will be the same black as the airbox lid.

Going in for a base tune later this week....hopefully. As long as the spots haven't filled up.

Better video to come.
