The auto racing world sure is in flux these days. It was announced today that Champ Car would not renew its contract with the SCCA Trans Am series. Which leaves two questions: Is Trans Am switching over to the IRL events? Is Champ car bringing in another road racing series to its events?
I sort of like the Trans Am series with the Jaguars, Corvettes, and Mustangs. They look alot like the road going counterparts vs Nascar stockers that are looking less and less like the street going cars. What I cant figure out is one of the owners of the Champ cars is the owns the Trans Am series, so whay happens now??

That sucks. What Trans Am needs is to look to its history for inspiration. Back in the 60's they had an under 3(?)liter class that raced with the ponycars. If they could get some good venues and better televised other than Speed channel maybe like the networks like CBS or ABC and get some under 3L cars like the Cobalt or G6 and the regulars to race together.
