The Orgs Advice Requested

so.. I might be getting a decent job and after paying off my bills I am looking at a new car and basically redoing the cavy... my max amount would be mid 30k range

I am looking at so far

Subaru STi
Acura TL A-Spec
Acura RSX Type-S
2006 Civic Type R
Nissan 350z Track

what would you guys suggest? anything else?

If you've got any cc debt pay that off first,
then Open a 401K for retirement,
then save up a downpayment for a house.

If it weren't for those 3 I'd have my damn STI by now damnit! I'm looking at older cars that I can make kick ass for under 3K now, there more fun anyways.

Then see how much you have left for a car.

My thoughts to add:
Acura TSX
Miata MX-5 (the new one)

GTO for sure

Why would you even want another 4cyl or V6?

seriously. for the cars in the 30k price area, the GTO dominates everything that you listed.

get an AcuraTSX, nicest car I ever drove. Or a TL, I don't like them as much, but still awesome.

Part out the cav and trade it in on a (then to be) used corvette...

Between the money for parts, the trade in value of the cavalier, and the depreciated value of a slightly used corvette, you should be good to go.

I want something luxurious but with pwoer thats why I chose the 260 hp TL nott he 200 hp TSX

gto is nice but I am going for handling more then speed thus the reason for the STi being my first choice

Well Phil, I guess you've been magazine test driving

Just go test drive a GTO and see how it handles, you will not be disappointed. The IRS in these things freaking rock!

i also liked the TL, but my mom tested the newer "270 hp" TL, and she said it felt slower than her 99 225 hp non-type S TL.

i wonder why they now say its 258 hp......
