ok, theres some controversy on my clubs forum about drag racing, so heres the basics
03 sunfire L61 ecotec vs 01 cavalier 2200 4spd auto
heres the current mods to each
03 sunfire:
-Short Shifter
-Short ram intake(getting soon)
-Fart can(lolz)
01 cavalier:
-short ram intake
-B&M shift plus
-header
-hiflow cat
-full 2.25" exhaust
now, when we go to the track this year, im taking my subs out, pass. side seat, rear seat, and running 15" tires on steelies
now tell me, realistically, who should win
Is this a question that really needs to be asked? The ECOTEC would take the old LN2 in a heartbeat, regardless of mods.
lol there ya go nathan now ya can tell colt he can stop arguing
The LN2 with the 3T40/4T40 is the slowest combination you could have in a J.
thats what im saying, but wonderhippi can tell you the same thing, everyone seems to be with the LN@ on this lol
if you know how to drive your car and dont miss a shift, then you would win
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
well im not a perfect driver but i know how my car reacts to pretty well any driving situation ive put it through so far, and if i miss a shift i fail lol
I'd like to see a LN2 beat a eco. Even with a bad launch I think the eco would win. Some of the LN2's I have been in are so slow. They are definately at least a second slower than the eco. But you never know, I've seen weird things happen at the track
Time will tell.
Have people make up odds based on what they're thinking and take bets. Or at the very least make some bets. You'll beat him like he's not even racing.

That 2200 is looking at a 17 on a good day with those mods, a fully loaded auto eco could run 16 flat with a good driver. with a base model 5spd people have seen 15.7 stock ecos.
they are both slow
, Id beat both of them lol, all eriousnes aside the ECO SHOULD win, but depends on the driver

With those mods your car SHOULD run a low 15.
I don't think anyone has run a low 15 in an All-Motor LN2 in the history of this website, let alone an auto one.

Haha scruff ran a 13.9 @ 97 mph back in the day in a first gen
Scruff's car
is no contest here guys like i said before i race a 1998 4dr 2200 against my 2003 4dr eco he ran a 17.7 with a short ram intake and i ran a 16.1 with a aem as only mods and i have a 4spd auto.
well i know my car is the faster, and im 99% likely to beat him, hopfully i have my exhaust done by the time May comes around, that should help my times, plan on doing tranny mounts too if my financial situation alows
I'm not expecting to win, but would be nice to see who gets the lead off the line.
Haha, are u the person he is refering too?
why speculate, just go street race in rush hour traffic, in a school zone, with two funeral parlors near by and be done with it.
If it takes forever.... I will die trying. Underdog Racing
haha, good times. You guys gonna be running in greenfield?
yep, if my timing chain doesnt crap out on me first
Oh there are places that can fix that
youve done it before i assume?
on my second one now....but I get a shop to do the work for me.
