I finally got to the dragstrip today. My best time was 10.494 @68.869 mph. My 60' times kind of sucked, mostly 2.5's. Overall, I'm happy, it was my first time there and I had fun.
Oh, for the record, music does NOT speed you up. I tried it on the second run and spun a lot off the line and ended up with an 11.161.

You were listening to the wrong song. lol
But slightly above average time with a stock car.
i dunno what the autos run, but my 5 speed eco usually pulls 9.5 in the 1/8 around 72mph
you have your balance shafts deleted right?

It was A Favor House Atlantic by Coheed and Cambria.

I have no idea what that means....so no, I don't. Is this something that would help a lot?

i ran 9.74@71 last nite in a 04 Eco with just a AEM intake other wise stock
music doesn't slow you down...not entirely....it just matters what you're listening to
first run i was listening to the soundtrack to 2 fast 2 furious (i swear i raced johnny tran in a 350z) to mock the ricers.
switched over to throwdown and my runs got faster.
I ran a 9.845@71.53 last night with a 1/4 mile time of 15.2@89 (2.28 60")
It's all in the launch. Mine are decent, but still need alot of practice.
Just keep practicing. hope ya get those times down!

The Track I went to was kind of hickish. No offense to anybody. There was no air pump to adjust air pressure, it wasn't really organized, and there didn't seem to be many rules at all. Basically, I don' tknow what my tire psi was, probably around 30, I'd guess. In a couple weeks though, I'm going to a better track. We'll see about those launches then.
Again - What does removing the balance shafts do?

It's not really a bolt on mod.
The balace shafts smooth out the harmonics of the engine.
If you remove the balance shafts it frees up weight from the reciprocating mass of the engine. So faster reving and more HP

Is it a noticable difference, worth doing? Involved? Easy?

Level Zero sells a kit, I cant remember the exact price but it was a couple hundred or there abouts. Its not just as simple as pulling them out...
It's fairly involved... I didnt do the install on mine (I was the one of the guinea pigs) but I've been running the kit for 5-6 months now without issues.
Not to thread jack, but after I noticed that your times were from an 1/8 mile track, what are people's opinions on them? I see that the JBO Bash is at an 1/8 mile track. I always preferred 1/4, what about you guys.
Congrats on the times. It's always fun to go to the track and see what you can do.
