I'm putting this in the newbies section for a reason...

Now, I know that on a boosted street car, HPT is pretty much useless. Many people suggest Megasquirt as an alternative, but it's not emissions legal, right? So... what gives?

I mean, are we either doomed to find an inspection station that doesn't give a @!#$, or does the legality depend on state?

That's pretty much it.

In those areas that don't have emissions, you can go with MS. Otherwise, you have to use HPT (or a bunch of creative wiring), or find a "lick-n-stick" inspection shop...
