Need a new Paint Job!! Hit a large beast!!
Monday, February 04, 2008 5:52 PM
Hey guys, some of you know I recently fixed my front bumper after my crazy blond moment during christmas eve. Well dudes it gets better, I acutally hit a freaking cow this past friday... A COW!!! I totaled my car but depending how much I get for insurance I might keep it. I was only cosmetic damage the engine and frame is perfectly fine. The Damage is as follows: both fenders, both headlights, hood, blits front bumper, windshield, and a ok size dent on the roof. For you animal lovers I'm sure the cow is ok, he was walking around after I pwned him going 30mph. I was wondering if any knows of a good place to get a whole car painted in virginia for a around $1000. Or if there is a j-body owner that would be willing to paint my car for a that price. I orginally thought about getting Earl Schieb to give me one for 1k but I know that macco and earl are lame in this department. I'm not looking for show quality just as close to factory as possible, I would love to paint it myself but I have never done it before and I only have 1k so no room for mess ups. Well guys and chicks thanks for your time.

It will cost 1K just for the materials to do it right.

Just find another car same color in a junkyard and start pulling parts. It'd be cheaper.

Ya poor cow, I'm gonna call the guy this week to check up on him. Always sucks killing or injuring animals. With the paint job I was going to try and do all the prep work. Sanding the car, using some rage gold here and there and remove the headlights and taillights. I know some people have gotten a full repaint for doing the prep work and some of the taping before handing the car over. I heard that earl and macco can do good work if you do all the prep and remove the lights on the car. Heres some pics of a guy that got it done at earl schieb, he didn't prep it before he gave it over and got the gold 600 paint job.

Personally I think it looks good, ya it's not show quality but I'm just looking for a close to factory look. I got the insurance qoute they'll give me 2700 if I keep the car and 3500 if I left them take it. I'm leaning on keeping it and fixing the car giving it a fiberglass predator hood, f1 fenders, and a whole new kit for the car... maybe a cavalier front conversion or a 03 sunfire front conversion. I dunno, still trying to decide on what to do... any suggestion let me know guys.

x2 Take the money and run, Add 500 to that and you would have no problem finding a nice car for that!!
