Intake Question
Saturday, August 18, 2007 6:04 AM
First off, Hi everyone. New here seems like a great site. This may have already been posted and will probably make me sound like a complete n00b but there are no stupid questions right? How the hell do I pull the temp sensor off he stock intake tube without breaking it. The ones I've seen in the past are just threaded into themselves but this one doesn't appear to be. Sorry again for this if it's a repeat. Thanks in advance.

just pull on it. but im not sure if its different on the 2.4 (which i have) vs the 2.2 ecotec. and im also not sure of which engine you have since you did not tell us or have your profile filled out with what car you have, engine, mods, blah blah etc. basically fill out your profile so we can better help you. MMMM'kay buddy?

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

Yeah if you have the LD9 (2.4 twin cam) you just pull it out. I think that goes for the 2200 as well.

Lol, after I posted I had to go somewhere and remembered that I didn't tell anyone what motor I had. I'll edit my profile but so you know this is what I've got.

98 Cavalier
2200 OHV
Cat-Back on the way from pace setter (I know there are better exhaust but mines rusting off and I needed something cheap)
No other performance mods except for ripping out the air box and putting a cone filter I had laying around on it ( not really a mod at all actually)

If I can get that temp sensor out I'll go by a cheap intake from ebay.

Car is slow....

Right now I'm just trying to get rid of the stock intake tube. I know it doesn't do much for performance but I hate my motor being quiet. Lol they were meant to make noise.

So just pull on it then???

Ya, It should just be held in there by a rubber grommit thingy if I remember right. Even if you end up breaking it somehow, there only like $12 or so, but that shouldn't happen. Just yank that mofo out .
