Driving like a madman

Hey everybody, I'm new here. I have been reading the forums here for quite some time and really love what you guys are all about. Currently, I do not own a JBody but have two other inferior cars that I am planning on selling soon so that I can afford to purchase one. Afterwards, I plan on heavily modifying it so that I can smoke some of those hosers on the street that think they got the edge on me. A little about myself: I am born and raised in Detroit, have experience in auto xing, I have a degree in mechanical engineering from RPI. I am currently studying at Michigan to become a CPA and hope to get my MS and PhD in Physics so that I can work at an investment bank speculating the value of derivatives in commodity markets. Modifications I plan on making once I acquire my JBody are: installation of turbocharger w/water injection and BOV, aftermarket standalone fuel management (i already have a motec m400 unit in one of my other cars), cold air intake, body kit and spoilers with low coefficient of drag, 18in wheels, full flow racing exhaust, high quality forged pistons and con rods, longer stroke crankshaft, racing clutch and flywheel, ported and flow optimized cylinderhead w/high rpm springs, large valves, and higher lift and duration camshafts. I'm not sure if they're made aftermarket for jbodies, but I'd really enjoy having forged straight cut gears in my gearbox. I'd also like to install HIDs so people know I'm a force to contend with when I'm rushing up behind them onto their rear bumper and then past! Well thanks a lot for reading; I look forward to talking to you all on this forum!

there are inferior cars to that of j-bodies?

on a serious note, you do realize, that in order to make a cav fast, it takes ALOT of money. take a look in the racing forum. by the time you reach the speeds of people like ryne and adam hahn, you'll realize that you could do much more with a car thats already fast when you buy it for much less money. now im not saying not to modify your car, but just make sure you know what you're getting into. also, dont street race. it makes the rest of us who legitimately modify our cars look bad.

Longer stroke + turbo = bad. You want a shorter stroke, not a longer one. The stroke is pretty short on an L4 anyway, so I'd stick with the stock stroke (not to mention its hell to get a stroked crankshaft (aka have to have it specially made $$$$$$).

Some of your mods contradict, low efficient body kit, but 18" wheels? Wanting a PHD in Physics I assume you know that rotating centrifugal force is a great robber of momentum. 18" wheels are heavy and the mass is extended out far from the center of rotation, taking more power to get them turning, and more friction to get them to stop.

Right, because every public accountant wants to be able to tune a J or build a nuke.

if this dude has all the money to buy this stuff...why not just buy something better than a J? i mean, that pile of parts is gonna cost him what $10,000 easy? hell 10 large plus the cost of the J...soooo many better used cars to be had for that money. IMO anyways.
