Just out of curosity, why was the J-platform Convertible dropped? My girlfriend has a 2k Cavie Z convertible and honestly I think its an awesome ride, and an excellent convertible. Unlike most convertibles, the J's weren't drafty in the winter, and they were fairly priced... So why do away with them?
I really hope GM considers making a Colbalt Convertible eventually!
good question... but im guessing that its the answer to every question when it comes to automotive companys...
$$$$$$$
do you know why gauge is spelled 2 different ways in repair manuals?
they figured out they could save a but load of money by taking the "u" out of gauge and it would still ideally be the same word.
sales werent that good.
and gauge is spelled both ways. space savers use gage. lol
shame really, because there really aren't too many small affordable convertibles on the market anymore. Anyway I was looking at my Girlfriends 2000 Z-24 convertible and thinking how nice it would look with the '03 refresh. Honestly that body style wasn't all that attractive.
I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to do if I could get ahold of an '03 LS sport, and an '00 Z-24, but lol I'm dreaming, like I'll ever have the money for that!

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
The convertible was a great car i always wanted one since i saw the 95 style change and just went and bought an 00 last summer. They are a little rattlely but noise is low and the top down doesnt beat you up with wind. got bored one day and when i built my 04 custom i got a whole new front and put the old front on the drop top. I got the ls front sides and rear bumpers the tails and the head lights its like and 04 cavy convertible yet they didnt make them gets people all the time. my ls rims are gonna go on it when i rim up the 04 cant wait.

I'd really like to see some pics of that one
they still had them in canada i thought.
car makers arent the only ones:
"American Airlines saved $40000.00 in 1987 by eliminating one olive from each salad served in first class"
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
i have a 1996 vert and i love it.. not sure why they did away with them either. The top doesnt bother me in the winter or when it rains. I did however have to replace the top 3 years ago.. mostly because it was starting to tear and cant show a torn top at car shows
