I have a 2002 cavalier z24. I have only one mod which is a pacesetter header (which really woke it up), about 3 days after installing it the head started to tick while there was no load but when I push on the gas the tick would go away. I don't remember how long it did that before it blow 2 holes in the block and one in the oil pan.

I ran a car fax on it and found out that this was a second time it had done this.

My question is if I build up the bottom end will this happen again. I plan on putting a turbo on it but I don't want to wast my money on it if my motor's going to blow again.

also how much HP can the 2.4l hold?

it will help. but people have blown built motors before due to a problem they didnt fix or see before hand

True but that could go for any motor, not just the 2.4 (but I'm sure you knew that)
