More than likely, that's just how it's designed.

If I were you though, I'd go with Pioneer, much better head units and better looking might I add.

If you need any Car Audio products, go to www.millionbuy.com. When I was into Car Audio at one point I used to get all my stuff from them and never had any problems...great products, great products, great service. Enjoy the link.

NJHK, what kind of head unit do you have? what was the price on it and all. the headunit that i wanted had all that anamation stuff on it. to get that from pioneer, it would cost a heck of alot more then what i'm wanting to spend.

Jason, were you sending that to me or to the guy above? not a big spender if you were talking to me, $150-$250.

thanks for your help guys

I'm rockin' the stock head unit right now. Yeah, I understand what you're saying about not wanting to spend much but it's worth it because they are some dope head units as far as animation. Just take a look at them on www.millionbuy.com and you can make a decision.

i need to know what deck will fit my car! i want a nice cheap deck, lookin at a panasonic, if there is somethin wrong with that deck tell me please. I did look at that site and the pioneer. $350 a little out of the price range. if someone knows of a deck that will fit flush or almost flush tell me and what kind of install kit i should use. i had a pioneer in my old cavy. it stuck out way to far, but i think it was the install kit. but my top price i can spend is $250.
thanks for your help.

I don't think any company will have a head unit that is exactly flush, they usually stick out just a tad bit. Contact those companies or look up their dimensions to see how it would compare.

It will not sit flush I have the CQ-C8400U in my cavy doesn't sit flush. As a matter of fact the only aftermarket HU's I've seen fit flush in Fords. And as for quality of the deck I love mine. Plays MP3's, fancy graphics, alot of options. It was very rare for it to skip and I was lowered on Ground Control's and stock struts. It's also tricky getting everything in the back behind the deck since it has an external inverter. Here's a pic of mine in my car.

true. i spent close to 400 (when it first came out) on my jvc touch screen headunit. im sure you can get them cheaper now but it has all the options as far as animation. you can upload pics and vids to the hu.

i just got a pioneer deh-p6700mp. love it! is there lowest model with the animations on it. cost me $230 with tax at best buy. it sits flush in my 99 cavi. even indented in due to the nice installation kit i have that is completely flush and makes the head unit sit inwards an extra like cm.

i have no clue what installation kit was used in my car. the previous owner had a pioneer deh-p3400 installed in it. all i know is it came from best buy because they installed it for her, but i don't think they use that one anymore because when i bought an installation kit from them for my at the time g/f's moms cavi they gave me a different one.
