What have u guys found to be the best alarm system? i heard viper and bulldog on here but are there anyother good systems? I was lookin for one with the window, door, and bump alert, remote lock and unlock, trunk release, maybe that remote that shows u where damage was done. i cant think of anything else i want right now.

As far as showing you where the damage was done, that depends on how many differnt shock sensors you have throughout the car. and one of those keychain remotes that display your car can cost from 75 dollars and up.
One alarm that i wouldn't really recomend is black widow. i have had it for about a year and its starting to act up so im ordering myself a new one, most likely viper.

i second any of the DEI Responder series alarms - that includes Viper and Clifford, as well as Python and a few others.

if you buy the alarm, make sure you can find someone to install it. MANY shops won't touch it because they can't warranty the work if you didn't buy it from them.

if you know how to install an alarm system you could try...but my ex, who has installed a few alarms, was intimidated by it - he let someone else do it.

the way im thinkin is that if i put my mind to it (like most things i do) i should be able to do it. probably a 4 day project.

well that's good...that means no need to worry about a bypass or any of that crap.

if you think you can do it, good luck. the Viper alarm is probably the best out there, and the Responder remote is pretty nice.

look up Viper 791XV - it's a really nice model. don't get the Viper brand tilt sensor for it, though...that sensor, apparently, is pretty frickin wonky.

compustar generally gets BAD reviews

i've heard nothing good or bad about an autoloc system...though if you hit up froogle.com, you can find viper 791xv systems for disgustingly cheap.

Are you sure your car didn't come with keyless entry? I recently found out my 97 Z24 is supposed to have a remote entry and trunk release. I found the information on how to tell in the "third gen" area of the forum. So I paid $18. for a remote from Ebay.
