ok i read the post about the installing white face gauges and it says i need a needle puller. so please tell me where to get one and what it is.
use a fork, thats what i did.
you should fill out your profile more. what year car is it? the 00+ if you pull the needles off will ruin the cluster. you dont have to take the needles off to get them on. ive never taken the needles off when putting over-lays on
it's way too much of a hassle to take the needles off and then try to get them back to the way they need to be. plus, like ßãggéÐÇåv98 said, if it's a 2000+, taking the needles off the gauges will break the cluster, even if you are careful.
how about just laying the gauges over the oem one. oh its a 97 cav
on a 97, you can get away with pulling the needles, but like i said, it's a pain to get them back on accuratly.
if you can, try and slide the overlay over the needles without removing them.
have all the needles point the same direction, then slive the overlay through the holes, then poin the needles back where they were, wouldnt that work?

that's what I did for the short time I had EL's on.

yes that works, thats how i do all of mine. i have the needles point straight up, slide the gauges on and then just push them back down. never had a problem and there all still accurate
Once you have the needles off, how DO you "realign" the needles to their correct positions? Can you wind the spindle up or something? I pulled the needles off of my 95 cluster to mod them, but now the RPM, speedo, etc. are all off very badly... Any ideas?

should of never of taken them off. theres no need too. i have a 5 speed and i took my speedo one off because i was having problems but since my car is a 5 speed, i have a feel of what mph my car is at when i drive. plus i know the limit for first is about 28mph so i was able to get it back on right

I did that as well, but for some reason my speedo is still 5 mph off. I found out from driving through a residental neighborhood that had a speed trap that flashed how fast you were driving, I thought I was going 25 but it said it was 30. Granted, it could of been wrong but we tried pacing on the freeway and I was going 60 to be even with his 65. Ohh well, I just watch myself now and remember to go 5 under the speed limit.

you can take it off and adjust, thats what i did to mine. i knew mine was off a little so i pulled the needle off and turned it slightly down more and pushed it back on.
I pulled the needles off to scrape the nasty orange/yellow back paint off of them. Then I added white model paint to the backs of all of them with blue LEDs in the cluster, so now they are white in the daytime. They look great, but don't work very well now... lol
I'll try turning them back as Bagged suggested. Hopefully, that'll hit the mark.
Thanks.
