okay, i did this last night, and i dont know if i was tired or what but i dont think it got posted so im doing it all over again.
Recap
last fall me and s1lver nips (chris) decided to tear the car down. i had replaced the motor harness and got around to driving it for 3-4 hours or so and it was driving good. no trans issues. so i wanted to clean up a bunch of unfinished stuff and clean up the tons of wiring that has been added to the car over the years so we gutted the trunk and gutted the interior and i pulled around 75-100 feet of old wire out of the car. then it got cold. i got busy and the car sat till about a few weeks ago. we worked on it last week and i worked on it this weekend. word of advice, if you gut your wiring, dont wait 6 months to start back up on the project. took me some time to figure everything out again. first few hours of yesterday were spent going "okay why isnt this working" and then chasing wires to see what i forgot or miswired. wasnt too horrible. a power wire had gotten pulled out under the carpet. i had forgot a ground wire on my switches for the air ride. and i had the radio aux power flipped on one of my relays. but takes some time trouble shooting.
so for the last few weeks we have cleaned up the wiring. i sent parts off to the upohlster to have wrapped and ive been working on the trunk setup. its getting close but i still have allot to do before slamology next month. countdown has begun.
Whats been done
rear side panels had stock seat belt holes filled in and then wrapped in suede
wrapped bottom of center console in suede and made suede boots for the emergency brake and shifter
wrapped rear panels around trunk opening in suede
cut door thresholds off of my kickpanels because the tabs were broke and had both pieces wrapped
removed 75-100' of old wiring and cleaned it up some
gutted the trunk, mounted amp on the back of sub box. mounted air ride tank in bottom of wheel well
replumbed air ride to get the valves down low.
repositioned the battery and compressor per the new layout.
went over the wiring harness in the engine bay and cleaned it up some (not a realy tuck, just getting burned out on the wiring and the car in general)
Whats left
building framework and shell to hold the audio and electrical fused distrobution blocks
building fiberglass cover to go over all the trunk componets. it will have windows to see whats underneath but will hide all the wiring
build mount for mids/highs amp to basically sit the amp in front of the air tank on an angle to hide all the plubming for the air tank.
get new hose for air compressor and reinstall (broke the fitting sunday killing my chances of taking the car for a test drive)
finish off audio kickpods
clean about 9 months worth of dust and dirt.
once that is done the car for me is basically done. its not as exciting to work on it anymore which is why its probalby sat for the last few years. so im just going to call it done. take it to shows and meets and hang a for sale sign in the window.
on to the pics. some of the pics arn't great, wasnt paying attention to what setting my camera was on, just wanted to snap a few quick pics
this is why i took these to an upholster. there is no way i could have gotten this quality with my skills.

i was at this stage when i found out the switches for the air ride werent working so out came the seat and center console. turned out being a forgotten ground wire back in the trunk. so back in they went. (this is why u dont wait 6 months to redo wiring you tore apart)
