I really have no clue where this thread will end up but basically some place to dump photos and post updates. Already behind on updates so this will start off here.
As some know i wrecked my 03, it totaled, i bought it back. Plan is to make it my fun project car. Meanwhile bought a 04 same exact car minus being automatic, something to drive and still mess with put the fun parts from the 03 on it. Right now i am working on getting the 03 semi-fixed to put in storage till i get a place to work on it. The 04 is the DD to tinker with and just make enjoyable to drive.
03 after getting towed to my work after the wreck
peeled the hood off, not as bad as i thought
the 04 when i bought it
had the car towed home so i could get my stuff off it and my boss didn't really want it sitting at the shop
so first thing first, get those winter tires off the 03 onto the 04 to finish out the winter season
For the 2 weeks not having a car I was borrowing a truck from a co-worker. Well since i had the 04 i was about to take it back to his place, then i figured. The 03's core support si still kind of too far into the engine to tear into it. Grabbed some frame chains from work and hooked them up to get me some room to work
After some pullin that @!#$ is straight
Before putting the 03 back into the garage
Next a little something i was working on was making some nice hub spacers, bought a spare rear axle for mock ups and it all started with a piece of paper
1/2" spacers cut out of billet aluminum
Next was then a little something something from UPS
Was at work on a saturday working on a co-workers motorcycle, finished earlier then expected. Figured hey i'll rip off those retarded red decals. Did that and notice my side moldings were kind of hanging off the body. No biggie, ill just re-tape them and put them back on. Pulled on the molding only to find out it pulled off paint too. Whenever it was repainted someone used a rubber cement type product to glue them back on, thus eating away the paint.. awesome right?
the white stuff is oxidized metal
Pretty well ruined my day, time to tear into the 03. Also didn't really take pics but i swapped the summer wheels onto the 04 as well
Now comes today. Got to the shop at 9am, tore the car down, fixed the driverside(worst side), and well painted the repaired areas and blended outward and clear the fender, door, and 1/4 panel. Seems like a lot just to remove some damn moldings eh?
Who doesn't buy a "new" car only to repaint 3/4 of it.
Time for paint
All done, clear was still impressionable at this point and didn't want to reinstall the 03+ outters for the edges to tear into the fresh paint. So installed 00-02 outters for temporarily, just not pictured
Progress will be slow, i don't plan on working on either car next weekend as im wore the eff out working 7 days a week. but I will be sure to update as I go.

mainly because they were free and why not. was installing them on a customer subaru and he ordered 2 not knowing they came in sets of 2. told me i could have the second set. However new ones are coming just because i liked them. sounded different and were louder. rarely ever honk my horn but using my fob to lock the doors was nice having that distinguishable sound.. and well they're cool..

thanks jay, normally it takes me forever to get stuff done because i hate being at the shop by myself so i lack motivation lol hard to work for more thena hour or two before im like "eff it". but i really want to get the crap fixed so i was willing to work through it all lol.

long gone, people kept asking to cu toff the lip but it had a hole in it from a lift and being lowered as well the previous owner met its fair share of parking blocks and curbs. so i wasnt going to mess with it. that bumper was beat to hell.
sndsgood wrote:did you do that with spray paint, looks like a hack ass job yo.
hey man... i used the good stuff.. duplicolor with those new fancy spray tips
lame update time
some new horns and blazer projectors
also windows got tinted today 15% all around like the other.
Also had to make sure this swapped over to the 04 as well.. (decals on rear window) see the OG in the background
Have these in the other car as well so had to buy more. White LEDs throughout interior
And found these awesome lights for reverse lights, brightest i've ever seen. Will probably use these in the 03 for the custom tails to get rid of the bulb covers on the bulbs for brake lights
lame update over

Its not really "coming together" in my mind.. just trying to get it somewhat to where the 03 was. I won't be going to ben's.. he came up here last weekend to drop off some parts and so i could fix the hole in his rear bumper and then he is coming up this saturday so i can paint it and his hood as well as bringing me the rest of the parts. Plan on swapping the trunk from the other car over and rocking the 99 toyos instead of the custom outters. amber turns will go well with the stock amber reflectors in headlights.
