Painted flares, new hood and headlights
Tuesday, November 16, 2010 1:22 PM
Alright guys I finally got the chance to paint my flares! I was also browsing locally on Craiglist and a guy sold me a CF invader hood along with those chrome projector lights. I was aware it need body work so I fixed the cracks along with the spot that was broken down to the carbon fiber weave and painted it to match the car. Inspired by the RKSport headlight covers, I got rid of all the chrome and gave the headlights a new look. They are also painted in a fire red metallic to flow with the car. Ill get some more pics up later, this was just a quick photoshoot.

Yes it was white back when it had a stock hood, silver 17's, different rear and no flares.

Was the CF bad or did you just paint a CF hood?

The hood itself was in poor condition and there were a few more spots that couldnt be saved so I just filled those spots in and painted it to match the car.

Not a fan of the headlights, hood would be alright if it actually fit properly.

What do you mean? Id like you to point it out so I can try to fix it. Maybe I missed something that you caught. As for the headlights it was just a test to see what kind of feedback Id get and I never thought of it as permanent. Just something to experiment with since they came with the hood. Ill swap back to my 00-02s immediately!

Smoosh since you started talking about wide wheels, I have been thinking about something. How do wheel spacers look on Jbodies? Thinking about something like 5/16.

Look at the first pic, that's a HUGE gap between the hood and fender, it also doesn't look like the hood closes far enough down, if you notch out the hood latch mounting points you can slide it down further

i had that same hood.. turn down the rubber bump stops but even when you do that, the hood still curves making it uneven at the fender lines. it looks and fits perfect on a hot day though.

Theres only a few things i do not like about the car:

headlights, hood pins, AT tranny

Love the rest of it, gorgeous color, I would drop the car lower too

Wait wait wait... do tell me how you plan to switch from 95-99 headlights to 00-02 headlights without modding that bumper .............................

I think those are the flares.

headlights HAVE to go sorry.
look like a poor attempt at Integra headlights.

Is it just the one picture, or are the back/front rims different colors?

Jlaudio I am going to modify the front bumper. What I mean by "swap back" was that I put them on and did a small photoshoot to see how they would look but I removed them after that. There's no way Id leave them on without modding the front bumper, that would be rediculous.
