My J-Body History... (Lots of Pictures)
Thursday, November 11, 2010 1:53 AM
Well I figure my car finally deserves this type of post, just to show my run in the J life...

Some of you remember this stage of my first cavalier... 2200 but atleast a 4 spd auto.

which ended like this...

a week later, i found this on brew city muscle. got it for $7500 42K miles cheaper to own this one by $10 per month and i upgraded to a 5spd eco

stock as can be

rear mouldings off

wheels and coilovers from the old car on

started getting into what i thought was performance

coated it with a bottle of anti sieze and it looked amazing

removed the rest of the mouldings

Intake

scored a free RK sport CF bezel with the tails since I didnt have any to replace the light bar that i had

stock 16's on and front windows tinted

Vibrant strut tower bars

these were cool at one time, i liked them but they were just too heavy and too much work to open and close

also, here is why you dont buy drilled rotors

both rotors looked like that

favorite replacements ever, Hawk HPS, and Powerslot Cryo treated rotors

haha we all know who this is on the side of the interstate in gridlock!!!

a little WI gathering

some of you know this car too, just not in this form.

the way i left the race track and while there had EVERYONE asking where my hood was....

its right here.... didnt have the pins so it was flopping NASTY at 55 so i did this to hold it down, worked perfect

how it looked before the bash and all the damage that hit.

how it looked after the first day of dropping it off

two days later

while working DTP gives me a call saying hey the extreme tuner kit is for sale on ebay you should get that instead. well that one sold so i emailed the seller who happened to have i think 5 more on hand so i got that coming.... best piece of my car in my opinion

had to change these up

started this color

how my front bumper is left

and so it begins

painted wheels on and what not. all done from the body shop

then i said you know what, header and intake just arent doing it for me anymore...

tial bov

tial wastegate

garret t3/t4 57 trim stage 3 whee, .63 a/r

yay for jet hot

innovate lc-1 with xd-16 gauge, love it

intercooler converted to black

exhaust goodies

stock tails just werent doing it for me anymore...

autometer phantom II gauges

charge pipes ran

tenzo r seats and corbeau harnesses

new, old, older

one of my favorite pics

family photo...

stock replacement, lasted what i had for about 20K

Hella Super tones
LOVE THEM

little new paint work on the front bumper here

changed the color up a little bit.

then i said, what dont people have in their trunks? MOTORS!
bought Jons, very custom fully built motor for a hell of a price

motor swap

added power windows

racetronix in tank pump

gauge pod for digital tach

LSJ valve cover

then i decided its time to go better and above and beyond...
fetter intake manifold

fetter coolant tank

partially assembled

all put together

fetters old drag wheels and radials, that i paint matched to the rest of my wheels

and the stainless custom 2.5" turbo back exhaust,(for sale)

i leave you with another one of my favorite pictures. Enjoy.

And now for the final word...

I have had a lot of good times with this car. I went from a 16 second car, to a 12.6 daily driven street car. Had its ups and downs and a lot of money put into it. met a lot of good people with it. however, i see a lot of them for sale recently to get out while they can. so, with that being said, the owner will be getting the title tomorrow. thanks everyone for looking and let me know comments criticism

by the way, i am going to get the title since I finally payed the car off

I love these history posts. You get to see not only a transformation, but also the good times, the bad times, and the changes in taste that occur over the years. I tried to find a criticism, but could not. Beautiful car.

Like! As the car sits now it's perfect, and it went through it's awkward stage as they all do (guady body kits and lambo doors).

Vince you know I hate it the body kit is gaudy, and turbos are for women. IMO it was better with the lambos and the razzi kit

Vince, I hate to see your car go man.
All the work, blood, sweat, and tears that go into something like this and you sell it.
Yeah, I know, it's too late to stop you.

Unless you really needed the money I still can't see how people sell their cars that they put so much effort into them.
But I enjoyed your tenure with what you've done to your car, it's metamorphosis from being just a Cavalier to something being quite special for all of us to enjoy.
Good luck on your next endeavors man and hope you find another project that will elevate your skills of taking something that is ordinary to something special. Best of luck.
