Cool updates bro!

Some updates on my 02!

Last fall I bought a triple gauge pod from Jon (airtonics) that he made for his former beast Cavalier. It was flat black when I bought it and I sprayed it black metallic the first time around. Unhappy with the fitment and color choice I pulled it out and began reshaping some of the edges and coming up with ideas to respray it with an OEM finish. First attempt was using undercoating for texture with Mopar paint for the color. Unfortunantly the undercoating NEVER cured and was insanely soft when it was above 70 outside. I gouged it atleast 4 times the first 4 days it was done. That, along with a crack that formed, inspired me to restart the project almost from scratch. Ended up taking off all the undercoating, fixing the crack, then redoing the process with new products. For this most recent attempt I used a duplicolor primer, duplicolor truck bed coating, and then colored it with Mopar Agate spray paint. Results are pretty good but still has its flaws. I can't nit pick it any longer though. It's done for this season. I also was running my wideband with the steering column pod Jon made but I missed seeing 120-140mph on my cluster! Wideband ended up where power outlet used to be. Props to Schulte for his assistance in this entire process. Even from states away!

Supplies:

Filling over the crack. (before undercoating was removed):

Truck bed coating:

Mopar Agate color:

While cleaning my engine bay I noticed my less than 6 month old Level Zero Motorsports upper engine mount was sagging due to shotty bushings. I quickly removed it and replaced all the bushings with Energy Suspension sway bar endlink bushings that I had laying around. Came out better that I thought and I see it as a huge improvement over their bushings. This is a MUST for any LZM mount in my opinion. Keep in mind, my car sits for the winter AND this mount saw less than 5,000 miles before failing.

Aside from those two things I had a goal of making my stance a little better than how it looked last season. Running my Motegi Trak Lites in 17x8 with 45mm offset looked incredibly pathetic paired with my Toyota front fenders. I debated on selling them and going with a Rota with a baller stance.. Then I realized that idea can suck it. With some help from Brad (Zyaa) I purchased GM Performance Parts extended wheel studs from a member on the quad4forums. I then purchased some hubcentric 10mm wheel spacers in 5x100/4x100 that are intended for VWs. They just so happen to use the same 57.1 hub bore. After noticing 10mm wasnt enough in the rear... I went 15mm out back. Topping off this setup is a complete set of Muteki SR48 Neo Chrome lug nuts to hide the studs and give a little flare. I love them. All four hubs had to be removed to swap lug studs. New tires were also purchased from Rob (RobscavZ24). They are 225/45/17 BFGoodrich KDW2s and they are one bazillion times better than my old Falken Azenis 215s in the same size.. Ride quality is improved and I actually have straight line traction.

Pod installed along with my Woodchuck Draft Cider tap handle. Yes, I can drive with it! :

Jay, I gotta hand it to you.
You're one of the few people that I see post a thread in P&M and I actually get excited to see what's inside.
That doesn't happen at all anymore.
This place is very boring lately, so thumbs up for you for getting me excited about cavies again

On a side note, you always beat me to every idea I have.

Love everything as usual, you put a nice touch on things. The lzm mount looks sexxxxxxy in black! I started with solid bushings then used poly endlink bushings which IMO are the best bushings to use with it overall. Looks like youve got the newer with thicker top plate as well, I had one of the first and it started to bend after a few thousand miles. Anyways keep up the good work!

On a side note, I want my tails to look like yours

Yes. Woodchuck draft cider is the most hood thing I have ever drank. It's only availible in 40oz bottles.

I truly don't see it looking "ghetto". Appreciate the opinion though! Honestly first bad reaction I have gotten.

I meant to install my solid bushings but simply lost them. Kinda glad I did actually. LOL.

As for the tails, The amber/orange is Metalcast orange and the red is a special mix from the body shop. The rest is up to you!

Thanks bro! Most people don't understand my humor or style at all. and at that point it makes me laugh even harder at situations.

LOL awesome! How big of a spacer are you running in the rear? which studs did you go with? I want pictures of sticker and spacers!

Thanks for all the love once again. I appreciate the feedback.

I forgot to mention my other recent mods. Jon helped me install a racetronix fuel pump that was pulled out of his black Cavalier. Ordered a Hallman pro rx manual boost controller, and working on getting my damn AEM wideband to work again. More tuning will follow those things.

Oh and that pesky engine I havnt touched in over a year.... I have ALL the parts... just needs to go to the machine shop and eventually become assembled.
