My dad and I drove down to LaSalle, Illinois earlier today to check out the annual JC Whitney car show. It's a pretty good sized show which attracts all different types of vehicles. There were plenty of nice cars, but only one that truely caught my eye:
An '05 Sunfire with the (partial) GM lip kit (minus the front
)! It was very nice looking compared to other Sunfires I have seen locally. The engine was stock with only some red wire loom, polished valve cover and strut bar. It had some decent wheels (forgot to check what size; 17s?), lowered (couldn't tell on what), clear front and rear side markers, HIDs in the low beams, a Sunfire badge on the upper windshield, aftermarket taillights, American Tuner (I believe) spoiler, interior was totally stock. Overall a decent looking Sunfire. I kept going back to it hoping to catch the owner, but never did. I wanted to see if he knew about The Org. I would have left a note, but I didn't have any paper or anything
. I am hoping to see him at some more local shows so I can let him know about The Org.
Anyway... I figured some of you would enjoy drooling over the (partial) GM lip kit just as I did

I totally agree. Some of the things done to it aren't exactly my taste, but overall it's a very clean Sunfire and we all know how rare that lip kit is!

*UPDATE: I emailed the owner (Jacob) using the email address listed in his registry here. I said I liked the car and asked if he would be attending any more local shows this year. He responded and was very nice (I was afraid he'd think I was a crazy stalker
). He said the front lip came off as he was on the interstate on his way to the show this morning. It was destroyed so now he has to save up money to get a new front lip which totally sucks. We are hoping to get together at another show and perhaps have a silver Pontiac photoshoot

My favorite look for J-bodies! I love that spoiler, would be perfect with the front lip, Its such a shame it was destroyed.

That's what the front lip looks like, and its my absolute favorite front end for a J-body with Xtreme Tuner as a close 2nd.
Yep, that's what the front lip looks like. If I had the money, I would buy an '03-'05 Sunfire just to put that lip kit on it.
I am not a fan of the wire loom either, but it's not
that bad. At least he doesn't have any red painted engine or interior pieces.
On a bit of a side note, he (Jacob) ended up taking home 2nd place in the Sport Compact class at the JC Whitney show yesterday. Best of all... he beat out a bunch of s*** talking Ricer Import owners!

Actually, he knows of a place in Illinois that still has a few of the lip kits (
the place where he originally got his lip kit from). He is currently saving up the money to get a new front lip. The worst part is he just got the lip kit back in April.

No offense to you or Jason, but your posts were totally unecessary. Jason's car isn't relevant to this thread. The owner of the original car posted has the entire lip kit (minus the front now due to it being damaged beyond repair), whereas Jason only has the front lip.
I am sure Dan did not mean to jack this thread...I am on cardomain with the owner of the Sunfire in this post and he has done a great job on his car...
I also Had the front come off,But was lucky to not wreck it,And found a way of mounting it so it would not fall off..I was going to get the rest if the kit just never got around to it,And if and when I can get it I will,If not I will live with just the front..
