well after about 3 years of compiling parts for this swap. had an emergency install last month. the end of my axle sheared off
instead of replacing it with a new stock axle, felt like it was time for the NWF big brake swap. my control arms, knuckles and dual piston calipers were in no shape of what i wanted them to be before i put them on but i had to get to and from work so they don't look the greatest right now. thanks for your help sndsgood.
still getting a grinding noise when i turn. not sure if it's the caliper bracket or another bad hub bearing. when i took it to get it's first alignment they said my passenger side (brand new) hub bearing was bad. luckily it's got a 1 year replacement warranty. bought some Powerstop slotted rotors. scored some free EBC yellow stuff pads for being a part of the SCCA.
took it through the car wash. it was filthy from old man winter and being too low to get through mike's express on the borrowed 16" winter rims that fit on the new hub pattern. thanks silverjon1nines. may trim the carbon brake quieter so you can't see the black on the pad.
also got my RS7's wrapped in Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs. lookin forward to the new FWD Street Mod class in autox this year.
will hopefully take it all apart before the
GM Tuner Bash to paint the calipers "bright red" and maybe clean up the aluminum control arms and knuckles and put a clear coat on them to keep them shiny.
on my way out to lunch on Friday, was enjoying playing with the grip of the ls1 calipers and new pads and rotors.

Hmmm, I always thought "LS1" was a kickass engine not a brake package.
Should look awesome with the calipers painted.

How the hell did u manage to sheer your axle like that?
Either way, looks good, i bet it stops on a dime aswell.
looks good was thinking of doing this my self
very nice. i bet your car handles like its on rail with those teins and aluminum CA's
the best part about this swap not a whole lot of people realize is the aluminum knuckles and calipers you now get to use. so not only did you increase you're brake size, you also kept the weight down doing it. A+.
We all need somebody to believe in something...

Seriously. WTF happened there?
Sheer unadulterated power that the M62 makes?....
Stopping power is great...unless your playing hardcore team deathmatch then you dont need it.
oh wait!
sorry...wrong topic. (lamer joke)

Damn....
I would only buy BCA National bearings. If your buying them from Advance and your using their NTP brand, i can see why they are going bad.

of course the items are ordered are no longer on their website. i didn't order the $70 hubs, these were the $120 ones. and searchin online real quick is sayin the item number is the BCA.

bca tends to use inner and outer rings from different manufacturers. i'd run Timken if you can get them.
brakes look awesome!! great addition to an amazing ride!

looks like Timken's are at my Autozone down the street. goin to check them friday night. if they are bad, i'm taking both back to Advance and then goin to Autozone, which is across the street. thanks for the recommendation.
