Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
not an expert but looks like some work. should be nice in time for summer.
Why the Saturn tranny? Looks like alot more work than just boltin an F23 in there.
2002 Cavalier "LS Sport"

if u look close it still is an f23. but iirc they have a diff final drive ratio.
other than that looks like its coming along
different 5th and final. weighs 4 pounds less. bought it for $100. cant afford a M86 F23 so i decided to go MG3 F23. also, the trans mount isnt done. i need to put one of those square tubes on top of it going sideways as a brace. im quite sure the 1/4" plate steel im using wont bend or break, but considering how simple it would be to re-enforce, i dont see why i wouldn't

from what I see, both have the same final drive just different 5th gears.. MG3 has less overdrive.. which means its gonna suck for cruising.
doesn't look like thats what you're building it for tho
def not a cruiser lol its a track demon thats going to have to be my daily for a few weeks here soon..... =[ putting gas in my truck is killing me. ill get a little honda or somethign to have as a daily here co ming up soon. anyways, the 5th is different. im not on my computer so i dont have the specs, but i have a copy of the email from GM asking what the difference was. (yes i really did email them about it. i wanted to verify what the vehical it came from was. also wanted to know the specs) the 5th isnt much different but i dont really care. the final will be slightly better for acceleration and since its a track car thats going to be good. not going to spend alot of time in 5th.

The car appears to be a 00-02, why is the wiring such a disaster inside the car? Trust me I know wiring disasters as everyone who has seen underhood pics of my car will attest. I've done an eco swap and didn't need to touch the interior harness at all.
---------------------------------------------------
4 Cams...32 Valves...5 Liters...This Could Get Fun!
i started on the swap without doing my homework. the guy i bought the engine from gave me the interior harness and said i would need it. i just assumed what he said was true so i cut the old one out. although im still glad i did because under the dash was a disaster of a wiring job on an aftermarket security system the last owner did. around 200 feet of extra wire. i dont need a security system/remote starter, and couldn't get the harness back the way it was before by removing things so i said @!#$ it and did the swap
last guy cut off the cruise and wiper harnesses.... grrrrrr
rewired the wipers from the old harness
got no plug for this on the auto harness. i think its for the tach
doors re-wired w/o speaker wires
figured out the white wires go to the ABS or something on the back wheels.... not important i think
another view
i have no plugs for these. what do they do?
trans mount done

Why not solder and heat shrink tube those wiring connections
Those crimp things are junk
Where the brake lines go in, that is your ABS .... You need an engine harness that has the provisions for the ABS computer hook up there. If you don't then your car will have the ABS light on for well.... ever.
lol flux capacitor.... i new what the one was on the body harness. i didnt know if that was for ABS or what.
