a temporary (feeler) paint job
Friday, August 29, 2008 10:56 AM
Just to see if I could deal with a pink car before I spend thousands on a paint job, I went to maaco and had them do this. I haven't gotten around to putting the sides back on yet

Doesn't look bad. I would have finished the body work before wasting money getting it painted.

For me those rims completely kill it.

I LOVE the headlight conversion.

Get different rims and tires.

Paint the mirrors

Pick a different color

It's MAACO dude.

Cheap paint, cheap price.

Lots of stock car racers take cars there.

cant say im feeling it too much

first and foremost......fix the headlights/bumper!!! they looked 10x better on signal's car. it doesnt look like the inside portions of the lights sit flush with the hood, whereas they did in the pics of signals car. also, you soooo need to extend the raised part on the bumper under the lights so they arent sticking out over an empty space.

second....i think the car would look better with two toned black on top, like you originally said you were going to do.

third.....the rims dont look good on there at all.

other than that, and a few aligntment issues, it looks like youre on the right track.

I wish I had $300 to just waste on a paint job that I might not be keeping. Must be nice...

$300 for the whole car? Wow. Its costing me that much just to repaint the lower moldings on both doors. I actually like the look of it believe it or not.

A MACCO paint is a MACCO paint job. I deal with paint every day. It looks good from a far and from pictures but does it really look that good close up? A real painter will tell you al the time, you get what you pay for. If you want a $300 paint job thats what you'll get, the nicer the paint job the nicer the money, but thats what wins trophies so, lmao...

I definitely LOVE the pink!!!!! lmao, I'm all about the pink lmao

I think it looks pimp. Get those sideskirts on there. The wheels honestly kind of follow the rest of the theme too. I personally wouldn't rock um, but they look decent on your car with the bright ass pink contrast.

Not quite digging it.

I'm not sure I could spend $300 on paint just to see if I liked it, but I guess in the grand scheme of things, it's better than spending the $5K or more on a real paint job and hating it!

I think if you darken it a bit, and add some metallic and/or pearl to it, it could look pretty cool.

The rims need to go, though. Not into the style at all, and chrome rims don't work on a pink car IMO. Silver, black, or gunmetal would work.

Do don't, I repeat DO NOT add flake to your clear coat, lmao

There is a step between base coat and clear coat where flake is added....

If you add flake to your clear coat it will turn out like 80 grit sand paper!!!! lmao

I'll be so rough it could snatch the skirt off a girl, lmao

But this is just a BTW kinda thing, lmao
