Changes for 2008
Saturday, January 12, 2008 9:36 AM
I finally had a chance to make some progress on the car. I took a break from modding for a few months cuz it was getting old. Now I'm back in the game. I learned a lot about myself during those few months. I seemed to be modding more to impress people than to make myself happy. That's all changing now. I finally figured out what I really want out of the car.

I had to get rid of my gravana setup, it was just to the point where I couldn't stand it anymore. I found a good deal on Tein Basics from Mr Pute, so I scooped those up.

I also picked up a set of control arms with new bushings from another member on here.

and then I decided yank some crap out of my engine bay.

I installed the TTR K-brace. who needs ground clearance? It definitely made a noticeable difference in how solid the front end feels. I'm very happy with it.

I sold the IF front and my wheels. Both of which went to good homes. The new owners have some really good plans in store.

I put my stock seats back in for the winter, and my cats were very happy about that. Now they have somewhere to take their afternoon nap. They love those Tenzo seats

I decided to ditch my 02 rear bumper due to some melting issues. I picked up an 03 LS Sport rear on ebay for a decent price. The best part was that it was already silver, so I didn't need to paint it.

and some IF sides to go with the rear

I liked this picture for some stupid reason

New parts for the front end will be arriving on Tuesday. I'll probably be stupid and go ahead and paint and install the parts next weekend

And here she is sitting in the garage after I finished taking pics and measurements for the RDfabs guys.

The engine bay is slightly less cluttered with the AC gone. I also rerouted my intake slightly to be a little more presentable

I also had JMGraphics whip me up a custom license plate frame. It's very ricer. I like it

My Vis CF Evo hood will be going back on whenever winter decides to be over. Now I need to find a set of wheels that I like.

Curious as to new wheels!

Damn shame about the IF front, rumor is that it looks good with those sides and rear bumper?

Plate frame is very ricer, I like it!

Changes are for the better man. Rear looks much better, and Im sure your helping your 60' times with those, Im just waiting for you to ditch the sc and switch to a hahn or something haha. Oh and I hope your cats are declawed haha, wouldnt want to mess those seats.

For wheels I say gloss black tracklites

Love the plate frame as well, but it should say "turbo eco"

Looking good Andy, it's been nice chatting with you as I have learned a few things and cannot wait to see the final outcome. From what you have been telling me the car should look really good!

I think youre going to have the same metling issues with the new rear man, that tip is the same one I have and mine melted my bumper a tad when it wasn't lined up properly. Lookin good, enjoy the new suspension

I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna go with a dark colored wheel. Part of me wants something that's either flat black or black with a polished lip. I'm not in any hurry right now to pick out a set of wheels. I really need to see how the car will look all put together and then go from there.

shhh, don't tell anyone. that's whats coming on Tuesday. I'll probably paint it and install it the following weekend since I don't like the way the stock LS lip looks with the sides.

I don't plan on ditching the blower for a turbo setup anytime soon, maybe after I buy a house and have a second vehicle to drive lol. Traklites are little out of my price range, I really couldn't justify spending that much on wheels for a car that doesn't even run 13s.

It's been fun chatting with you as well. You're the one that basically convinced me to go ahead and purchase the wtype lip.

I picked that tip cuz I really liked how well it filled out the opening in your bumper when you first did your exhaust setup way back when. The melting issue with the other bumper was mainly because I did a hack job of mounting the muffler. This time there's not a whole lot of room for error. There's maybe an 1/8" of clearance all around the tip. Hopefully my new hanger on the muffler doesn't bend like the old one did. I love the new suspension, it rides so much nicer than the gravanas. It's definitely more of a daily driver suspension, where as the gravanas were more performance oriented.

That car has been one of my favs since you got it. I am definitely jealous of the whole s/c setup and new suspension. Only thing I don't like is the IF sides, never have liked those, but obviously you do so. Can't wait to see what you do next and pick for wheels...
