swaybar install
Friday, October 05, 2007 10:47 AM
Eric (97cavieLS), Todd (AZSpitFire) and myself tackled my front swaybar install a few weeks back. we started looking at it closely, to try and figure out the best way to go about it. so we did this:

PIMP!!!

and at the end, (although the full swap isn't quite finished... I'll explain in a bit) we ended up with this:

TTR upper mount:

Pacesetter armor-coated LSJ header:

Canadian Domestic Market FTW!!!:

oh, and this motor is OFFICIALLY mine:

we ran into quite a few problems due to inexperience, lack of research (on my part), and lack of money. but, the car is running pretty decent now. I do have an issue where the car wants to die, especially when transitioning from the highway to surface streets when coming up to a red light, but I'm learning to keep that from happening.

many, many thanks to:
Eric (97cavieLS)
Todd (AZSpitfire)
Colleen (lovefastcars)
Chad @ Gravana
Alan (CaliforniaDomestics)
Justin (Snowman)
JJ (who's not on this site I believe)
and all the others who answered my repetitive questions...

upgrades:
7500 mile Ion Eco
9000 mile Getrag
TTR upper mount
TTR trans mounts
AEM CAI
Eco "heavy duty" radiator
SMG control arms (welded seams, Prothane bushings, greaseable ball joints, heavy duty hardware)
Eibach front swaybar
Pacesetter armor-coated LSJ header
SPEC Stage 2+ clutch
Comp Cams N/A Stage II cams

to finish up:
I need a new harness, because the place that sent me the one I bought last year sent me the wrong harness. the one I'm using doesn't have ABS. for some unknown reason, I cannot get HPT to flash my PCM. I do have LSJ injectors waiting to go in. I have all the parts ready to do a full 2.5" exhaust. I need the A/C lines and receiver/dryer. and I'll eventually get it on the dyno.

thanks for looking!

(btw, I know the pics are crap. they're from my cellphone, because I kept forgetting to bring a camera.)

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

.....and what was wrong with the 2.4?

or are we just jumping on the Eco bandwagon?

Re: swaybar install

the 2.4 was very high mileage, had a top end knock, using oil, and was on it's 3rd coolant leak.

What car is a LSJ lol? And does it fit with any mod's? are the Dimensions different?

Re: swaybar install
Friday, October 05, 2007 1:26 PM
LSJ is the 2.0 Eco supercharged motor. the motor itself won't work in a J-body without a LOT of modification. but the injectors and Pacesetter header will work.

Re: swaybar install

Jason, PM me with what you need/want and I'll let you know. the header/downpipe, PCM and harness, bare engine and trans are gone fyi.

give you a great deal too bro.

larger primaries. more flow.

well, I'm trying to take it as easy as possible to break in the new clutch, but it pulls really nice up around 3500 RPM or so. with the lighter motor and swaybar, the front end sticks a lot better now.
