Well the car is back from the body shop with fresh paint and some new goodies... Toyota Fenders, Saab 900 Side marker lights for the toyos, Falken Azenis RT-615 235/40/17, 13 lb 17" flat black Motegi Traklite wheels, hub rings form Jegs, McGard Spline drive black chrome lugs and locks, Wilwood 12+" big brake kit, Wilwood flexline stainless steel lines, DOT 4 syntetic brake fluid and the silver cav got Rota Boost 17's with Nitto Neo Gen tires (and some cryo treated powerslot rotors, Hawk HPS pads and SS front lines)
first the body shop.... overall the car looks great, almost all of it has fresh paint along with a new windshield... my only complaints are that they did not get paid by insurance to fix rock chips, so when blending paint hey painted right over them... which isn't a bad thing, at least they are sealed and wont flake. They didn't get paid to fix door dings and stuff... I never realized how many door dings it had... with fresh paint they stand out all over the sides if the light hits it just right. Only real complaints (they are getting adressed tommarow) is that they took off the passenger mirror to paint the door but forgot to replace it (its scratched up on the top from the roof shingle that caught that corner of the car) and when they took off the drivers mirror I think they over tightened it puting it back on casue they cracked the base of it.
The toyos... overall I don't think it was worth it. My original plan was if I needed the extra clearance from the bigger tires I would install the toyo fenders... if not then I was gonna sell them. Well insruance was painting most of the car already so now was the time to the do if I actually wanted the paint blended in etc.. if I wanted it done "right" it was alot cheaper to only pay to have one side done since insurance was covering the other side. So they went on. I don't like the fender lights at all, in fact I hate them but it wouldn't be worth shaving them since looks isn't really what I'm concerned with but who knows maybe they will grow on me. With the wider tires they are also just a hair shorter so clearance I don't think would have been an issue, but mix slightly shorter tires with more fender clearance and the fact that I droped the car to handle well (control arms close to parallel) and I didn't just slam it on the coilovers it ends up with more wheel gap then I would like. But clearance wont be a problem on real hard corners.
wheels/tires/brakes
I love them. Brake install is very simple but a pain in the ass. First my kit didn't have enough shims... I spent about 2 hours this mourning running around trying to find somethign that would work (7/16's washer thats .02" thick), my next problem was the brake line fitting into the caliper.. the black anodized finish is in the threads as well, I thought I had the wrong fittings but after running a tap through the threads and cleaning them up they worked just find. Last issue was positioning the lines to not rub, if I positioned thm to not hit the axle on full turn they would hang up on the plastic liners on the side of the motor and get stuck on those which would move the line into the side of the rim/tire when turning, I had to hack up the plastic and trial and error the position of the lines but in the end, all is well. I broke them in and then took it easy on them but I did make one pretay good stop and like tossing a boat anchor out the window LOL I love it.. The wheels and tire combo is sweet, very very lightweight combo and the tires are definetly sticky though I haven't really pushed them. Braking is FAR better, then it was, traction is good so far, handling is good so far, acceleration is better then it was (with the heavier Rotas) but not a huge difference.
now on a side note... I driinking and watching football so I'm only half paying attention to what I'm typing so don't mind any major mess ups like skipped words or half sentences LOL
and finally these pics kinda suck... I'm off tomorrow I'm hoping to get off my ass and go get some decent ones but they are good enough for now
Heres a couple pics of both my cavs sitting in the driveway
MUCH BETTER. rotas look damn good on the silver cav, now were gonna have to get together for some really good pics. the new set up kicks butt too. cant wait to hump it in person
looks great!!!!
Getting "better built" for the '08...

the hahn stage 2 kit is laying in the spare bedroom next to the eagle rods and crank, wiseco pistons, ARP head studs, GMPP nuetral balance shafts and hardened oil pump gears.
I need a head, cams, valve train, and then just misc. seals and what not and its all going to the machine shop along with the spare 5k mile eco motor chillin in my shed
I'm shooting from spring to have it completely done
Its "sold" but not gone yet
well...overall the car still looks gay
but i bet its fun to drive at least. who knew stomping on the brakes would be so much fun?
Love the hole set up! Very nice! cant wait to see it in person!

Ryan, this made me cream my pants
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

thats why its got mudflaps... so you only cream your pants on not on my car LOL
The saab lights that are gunsmoke/black/ clear would have looked better ryan. Thats what i snagged for mine since i hate that amber yellow color. Just some food for thought bro. I have the Saab P/N's if ya want em.
I apreciate it but the lights will look like @!#$ no matter what the color... I got these used for like $14 shipped, I'm not gonna spend money on something I already have and have it still look like @!#$ LOL
Love those rims! I'm looking at a set of 16s for my Beretta next spring when I can maybe afford a set. 3400 comes first tho.
2010 Honda Fit LX

Your probably right, but i won't know for sure till i can actually get mine on the car and then get the car painted its new color. Other wise, the the GTC is def. coming along nicely.
Cute little track slut in the works you have there, even in gay tan it looks sort of imposing now with the bulged fenders and big ass brakes behind strictly-business flat black wheels.
I wish my one J was as cool as half as cool as either of yours!
GTC looks Super!!!! toyo fenders turned out well.

I'm gonna take a quick shower then head out for a photoshoot with some good pics
Like yourself, I just don't like the side marker. Kinda looks out of place...I know its part of the toyo fender pkg though.
+1 to the amber lenses being out of place (mainly with the abundance of black on the car)
I'm not sure how dark the smoked lenses are, but:
All in all, turned out real nice though
V ery, very nice dude. Can't wait to see it in person.

4 Cams...32 Valves...5 Liters...This Could Get Fun!
even tho i love the marker lights on my own fenders... they dont look right on that car!
loving it tho. the ride height scares me but i do understand its for function purposes... please lower it for atleast one photoshoot!
